CD Sunday Challenge, - Hugs and Wishes

 Hi,
Yesterday the sun popped out oh the joy of seeing something bright in the sky,  it only lasted a couple of hours, today it was back to the dark skies although it did get brighter after lunch,  I am fed up with cloud,  and its so cold,  the last few days its only been a few degrees.
Here is my card for the challenge this week, on the CD Sunday Challenge Blog link to their blog.  Its Hugs and Wishes,  it was hard to find the right image and then I found these that I had printed off to make a card sometime ago,  so here is Popcorn Bear hugging a bunch of sunflowers.  I use Popcorn Bear CD for the background and the three bears holding the sun flowers.   this is one of my favourite images for Popcorn.   I cut three triangles from silver miri board for each bear,  I gave them some shape with a tool,  I like to give images some shape rather than flat on the card.  Put the words on a piece of peach card layered on a small piece of the silver miri board.  Put a piece of ribbon down the side of card,  which is from Joanna Sheens On line shop,  her ribbon is one of the best I have brought.  and finished off the card with silver pell off words and lines.

I hope you are keeping well and staying warm,  until we meet again take care.

The CD Sunday Challenge, - Spring is in the Air

 Hi,
If I had written this yesterday I would have said it was a beautiful day full of sunshine and definitely Spring is in the Air,   today we woke up again to fog,  frost and  its very cold.   They say its going to get colder with an East wind blowing from Scandinavian,  brrrrrrrrrr.
The challenge this week was Spring is in the Air,  I chose this image although the trees have leaves the image says love which last week was valentines day so combining the two this image says Spring to me,  (I hope it does to you too)  Link to the CD Sunday Challenge blog
I used Joanna Sheens The Pamela West Collection CD. both for the image and backing paper,  I pleated the backing paper to one side but I don't think you can see it.  I matted the image on green pattern metallic card,  the daffodils are stick ons which I have had for some time.  The ribbon bows I made from ribbon from Joanna Sheens on line shop.  I finished off the card with gold peel off's.
I hope you are all keeping well, staying warm and cosy until we meet again Take Care.

Commission card for Valentines Day

Hi,

I was asked to make a valentines card,  my request was two angels and two hearts.   Well I made this one (actually I made this one first before Vernon's and liked the design so much I based his on it)
It has red rose glittery backing paper,   two hearts red on silver,  two tatted angels which I put hanging from the ribbon,   and use silver peel off's to finish the card off.
I have not had any fed back so hope the card was what he wanted to send.
Hope you have a nice weekend.
Take care

Happy Valentines Day - Vernon

Hi,

Happy Valentines Day,   I hope you all had a card,  I have a husband who does not believe in it,  but being a card maker and born under Cancer who has a lot of love, naturally I made him a card.
We went to Weston super Mare on Tuesday and Vernon brought me a lovely bracelet for Valentines Day,  its very unusual for him to buy me a present for valentines Day,  and something to remember our day out.
I hope this card cheers him as he's still very down over his Dads death,  which is only normal,   we are still both feeling upset,   we had a day out last week and another one on Tuesday,  hopefully as the weather improves we can get out and about a lot more.
The card I made has glittery flower backing paper,  with two red and silver hearts red ribbon down the side and words and edged with silver peel off's.
Have a nice day.

The CD Sunday Challenge - On your bike!

 Hi,
From a very cold and wet Somerset,   we have had snow, sleet and now rain today,  with now a strong wind,  just the day to stay in and catch up on a few jobs which is exactly what we have done.
Today I bring you my card for the CD Sunday Challenge, link to their blog  now don't expect too much my mojo is coming back but not fast enough for me.
This week its on your Bike,  and I knew I had the perfect image,  this bike image is from Flower Soft and its ages since I got out the flower soft.  I used the backing paper from the Joanna Sheens CD if flowers could talk,   its a lovely pinky check design,   which I teamed up with pink spotty paper that was free this month from Papercraft Inspirations.  I wanted to do something different with the ribbon so I made a very small bow and left a long pieces down one side of the card, the ribbon came from Joanna sheens on-line shop,  and finished off the card  with gold peel off's.

Hope you are keeping warm and dry and until tomorrow  for my next post when its valentine day, take care
                 Hugs

Emma's Challenge - Art Deco

 Hi,

From a very cold, dull and dark as well as snowing at the moment Somerset,  Its thanks to Suzanne who found this challenge and gave me the link,  so here is my card for Emma's challenge this month of Art Deco. link to her blog

I printed off my art Deco lady from  the Art Deco Timeless Keepsake CD  and 3d her in her pink suit.  I used a poker dot paper from stock and the flourishes are from Suzanne who die cut them for me,  thank you Suzanne.  The flower is several layers of white, pink and brown poker dots and a glittery middle,  pink rose buds and a couple of leaves.   The pink ribbon is from Joanna Sheens on-line shop and then silver corner and line peel off to finish off the card.

I enjoyed making this card even though my mojo has gone and I have not been doing much crafting recently.

Hope where ever you are you are staying warm and cosy.
Until we meet again take care

Gong Xi Fa Cai (Happy Chinese New Year)

Hi

Gong Xi Fa Cai,   or  Happy Chinese New Year.

I hope you are having a good day, perhaps I should start the year again in Chinese style,  its pouring with rain here, they said it was going to snow and then changed their minds back to rain.   There are parts of Somerset who still have floods from before christmas and no sign of the water going away.    Over in the US they have snow please don't send it over,  I hope all my american followers are safe and not buried in the snow.   We have seen pictures on our news here in the UK,  we have had enough of snow and rain for one winter.
Until I have something to post,  and  my mojo is coming back slowly and I managed to tat a couple of tiny hearts but so far the TIAS is still printed on the pages.
Take care
               Hugs

Miracles do happen......

Hi,

I am sorry but I have nothing to share with you but I have a little true story to share with you.

On the 14th January, as we rushed back to Oxford, I asked my husband Vernon how much the card was to send to my penfriend in the US.   Lou is at present stationed in Nebraska,   we have been penfriend's since 1997,  when she was in the Pentagon,  then she went to Guam, back to the Pentagon, then to Florida, onto Seattle,  Pentagon and now Nebraska, yes she moves about. She was even in the Pentagon when the plane hit on 9/11,  she was unhurt but she had to ran for her life with the thousands of other staff working in there.  We have meet once before we got married and she was coming over for our wedding but her leave was cancelled.    I hope one day we will meet up again, but until then we will just have to email and use snail mail. Oh and she is a tatter,  I have a lovely bookmark she made me some years ago.
I digress,  It was her birthday in January and I gave Vernon the card with an airmail sticker to post.
So in the car back to Oxford I asked how much,   the reply was "I stuck it in the postbox",  but it had no stamp,   with everything on our minds it had not registered to take it to the post office.     Well I sent an email saying there is card on its way,  but.   We thought the card would not get very far, I had forgotten to put the sender on the back, so this card really was not going anyway but the Royal Mail bin or would cost an arm and leg when Lou got it,  I might add I had said I would pay her whatever it cost if it got to her.
Last week we had an email from Lou,  to say thank you for the card,  it went though two international post offices,  two continents,  and flown across the pond,  how much did she pay................NOTHING, yes I did say nothing.  How many post office man/women handled the card we don't know but no one noticed there was not a stamp on it.  See miracles do happen occasionally.
Have a nice day.
I hope to have something to show you soon, I have over the weekend picked up my shuttles and doing the Mayan Exchange item, yes well I scrapped the one I had worked on and started again, I hope I meet the deadline for posting.  The Tat along mat is at a stand still,  I have opened my Esty store today and added a couple of new items into it.  We are slowly getting back into normal life.   I did manage a craft table last Saturday although I did not feel up to it,   I had a good day and came away with a couple of orders.  Which I will share with you when they have received them.
                       Hugs
