Cruise ships in Weymonth Bay

Hi

Recently we had a few days away in Weymouth Dorset,  it was nice to get away and have a different four walls just for a week.    While we were there I took these pictures of the cruise ships at anchor in the bay.
Due to the virus these ships are let’s say resting, although they have a skelton crew on board no doubt doing repairs and looking after the ships.
I know the pictures are not great unfortunately these are the best
This is a list of ships we saw
Aurora.                   -   P and O
Jewel of the Seas.   =. Royal Caribbean line
Queen Elizabeth.     -  Cunard
 Britannia.                 -  P and O
 Queen Victoria.        -  Cunard
 Marbella Explorer 2 -  TUI

It is sad to see these ships at anchor and not cruising the high seas, No doubt these ships will sail again, until then there is a little ferry in Weymouth taking people out to see the ships but they won’t get that near as there is an exclusion zone around the ships of 50 meters.

CD Sunday Challenge - Anything goes # 45

Hi,
Time for another challenge at the CD Sunday challenge blog and as usual its anything goes as long as its from a CD, USB, or digital material,   this fortnight the challenge is hosted by Wynn.

For my card this fortnight I used a free image from Google,  the backing paper came from Something for everyone CD by La Pashe,  I matted the card onto back card and printed out a couple of images and decoupaged the quad bikes.   This card was for my husbands nephew  birthday who has a quad bike,  and into cars and bikes etc.

CD Sunday Plus challenge has a Facebook page for those who would like to enter the challenge and do not have a blog,   here is a link to the page

I hope you will visit the CD Sunday Plus Challenge site, and remember if you want to enter the challenge you must use something from a CD, USB or digital material no matter how small and let us know where and what you used the material from.  Here is a link to CD Sunday Plus Challenge blog  we would be pleased to see you.

I hope you are having a lovely weekend

The Blue Pool

Hi,

We had a few days away and spent a day at the Blue Pool near Wareham in Dorset.

The Blue Pool is at the center of the Furzebrook Estate,  a great place just to have a walk,  I t was a clay pit which was dug out in 1840 - 1860 and over the year filled with natural seepage.  It has a high concentration of minerals still in the water and therefore does not support  any vegetation and there is no oxygen in the water so there is no water weed or fish

This combination of factors makes the water diffract and reflect light in an unusual way and often changes colour with the weather.

The Estate was designated a Site of Special Scientific interest in 1983.

There is a tea room where you can get a nice cup of coffee or tea with a homemade scone made on site or a light lunch.   Today of course with social distancing and the virus,  the tea room is open but in a reduced capacity.   We had a lovely walk and took these picture, we were just going to take a selfie when this lady walking passed said would you like me to take a picture of you,  this is us with the pool in the background.

I was very sad to see when we went that the Owner  had died the day before,   I meet her many years ago when I did live in work and looked after her uncle,  I was able to take my dog and everyday we went for a walk around the pool,  it was lovely to go and back see the pool but sad that she had died the day before.

CD Sunday plus Challenge - anything goes # 44

Hi,

Time for another challenge at the CD Sunday plus challenge blog,  as always its anything goes as long as its from a CD, USB, or Digital material.   This fortnight the challenge is hosted by Jo.

For this challenge I made a  simple Christmas card,  after all Christmas is just around the corner,  I used House Mouse Triple CD no 3 Christmas by Joanna Sheen.  I used both the image and matching backing paper,  maatting the image onto Hunkydory bushed silver mirri card,  and used the sentiment that went with the image again matted onto the silver mirri card.  I finished off the card with ribbon and a bow.
