Endrucks 1920 tatting Project

.

Hi,

Mushaan and Nietta Caruso started a project last year,  using the Endrucks  1920 patterns and modernising them,  a few weeks ago Mushaan published a heart pattern,  see the above picture,  I tatted the heart in Lizbeth thread no 20 Cranberry bush,  but I did not think the pattern leaded itself to a varigated thread.

Then Mushaan said she thought it should be bigger,  that got me thinking and I made the pattern bigger by adding three rings see picture,  this is only a rough tat,  I added some beads as well.  Then someone on Facebook said it looked like an Angel,

Back to the drawing board and I came up with this Angel,  it’s still work in progress and we think the head should be a bit bigger.  But again this is rough tat,  the finished Angel hopefully will look simular,  it’s not been blocked but it’s good enough to show you what I have been up to,  over the last week.,

all I can say is watch this space.,  if you would like to see more of this project here is a link to Mushaan’ s Blog.  Link. You will also see her lemons from her tree.

Have a lovely weekend

CD Sunday Challenge - Anything goes # 90

 Hi,

Nearly to the end of July and we have another challenge at the CD Sunday challenge blog,  this fortnight it is Carol's turn to host,.

For my card I used Gnome and Faries CD by La Pashe,  the background is a forest scene,  and I added and decoupaged the gnome sitting using a computer,  I added various die cut leaves in shades of green and then added glitter to his hat, toadstool, butterflies and other gnomes hats with just a touch on the leaves.

CD Sunday Plus challenge has a Facebook page for those who would like to enter the challenge and do not have a blog,   here is a link to the page

I hope you will visit the CD Sunday Plus Challenge site, and remember if you want to enter the challenge you must use something from a CD, USB or digital material no matter how small and let us know where and what you used the material from,   and that it is a card or a project.    Here is a link to CD Sunday Plus Challenge blog  we would be pleased to see you.

I hope you are having a lovely weekend

Knitted and tatted picture

 Hi,

I don’t think I have ever shown this picture

Yesterday I looked at this picture and thought it looked a bit dusty, so I carefully washed it, hang it out to dry.  Then I thought I have never shown this tatted and knitted picture,  so here it is,  the foxglove is knitted on no 14 needles,  all the surrounding foliage is tatted,  the butterfly is also tatted.   I used embroidery silk to make it all,  three stands on the foxglove with small black beads in the each flower,  three stands for the tatted foliage and flowers and two stands on the butterfly.  All sewn on to net and blanket stitch to secure it to the frame,  Trouble is I don’t know when I made it,  I think it’s 30 to 35 years old.  When I washed it yesterday I really thought it would break up but no it’s fine.

The knitted Elephants

Hi,

On this very hot day here in Somerset,  we now have a heatwave,  it’s just a bit warm for the U.K. and tomorrow parts of England could reach 40+ c.  In our climate it’s over powering,  we have summers that are cooler than Europe with a wet sapping heat,  while down in the south of Europe they have a dry heat which is usual bearable and you don’t notice the temperatures so much.  At the moment many parts of Europe  are in temperatures beyond their usual for this time of year and many countries are suffering with wild fires.   I always feel sorry for the wild animals,  they are the ones who get left behind and suffer.  Trees can grow again or be replanted,  animals can not be replaced so easily.

Today i am showing some knitting I have been knitting over the last couple of months some elephants,   This is an old pattern which I have knitted so many times,  I did two girl elephants,  both I did slightly different than usual and made a shawl,  instead of a ribbon around their necks and a boy elephant,  I made a scarf for him.  I think this is Chelsea football colours,  I’m not a football fan so if I am wrong  I am sure someone will post right or wrong.

The eyes are embroidered on with back wool.

I hope you are staying cool in the heat,  we are not going out tomorrow or Tuesday,  we are going to stay in the cool as much as possible,   No gardening,  I have been band from the craft room as it’s too hot,  the sun hits first thing in the morning and it’s very hot in there even with the blinds shut.

Take care

Margaret

CD Sunday Challenge - Anything goes # 89

 Hi,

Time for another challenge at the CD Sunday,   as usual its anything goes,  as long as it from a CD, USB, or digital material,  the host this fortnight is Jocelyn

For my card I used Shoes in Bloom Cd  by Ooh La la creations,   The image is shoes made out of Lily of the valley one of my favorite flowers.   I mated the image on grey card to bring out the white of the lily of the valley flowers and matching backing paper.  I used Joanna Sheens signature die of Lily of the Valley spray.  I made a cream ribbon bow to one side of the card.

CD Sunday Plus challenge has a Facebook page for those who would like to enter the challenge and do not have a blog,   here is a link to the page
