International Tatting Day

7

Hi,
Today is International tatting day,  celebrated around the world by tatters,  this is my latest donut ring snowflake I have done,  the pattern is from 24 Snowflakes by Lene Bjorn.  It worked out quite large at 4 inches dia.,  like all donut rings I used Lizbeth thread no 20

The picture above  is my latest button design, well it’s a donut actually, this is a gold one may not show up so well in the photo.
This started off as Dianes December 20 pattern, but when I had gone around the donut I only had ten rings instead of 12, not to waste anything, I made up the rest starting off with a tiny split ring and then worked around with chains, last row another split ring and then worked with rings and chains. It does lay flat but likes to go frilly a bit on the outside. I am happy with it, but have not bothered to write the pattern out.

This pattern is December 2 Button ornament again using a donut ring,  this ring is green.

This is another donut ring again using December 9 Button ornament by Diane, This also had a gold ring.

All button ornament patterns are by Diane from Lace-loving Librarian blogspot.

I am really enjoying tatting this donut rings,  but I am now having a rest and have started a new project which I will share with you when I have finished it.

Have a lovely international tatting day and a very Happy Easter to everyone reading my blog.

CD Sunday Challenge - # 57 Anything Goes

 Hi,

Nearly to the end of March  already,  where has this year gone,  it time for another challenge at the CD Sunday challenge plus blog and this fortnight the challenge is hosted by Carol.

For my card this fortnight I used Furry Friends squeeze cards digi crafts CD for the image.  This is image is called Proud Father,  its one of my favorites from the CD,  I used a backing paper from Click print and go CD by My Craft Studio,  I decoupage the image with four layers,  matted it onto gold miri card by Hunkydory,  adding a ribbon down the side and a copper happy birthday peel off,

CD Sunday Plus challenge has a Facebook page for those who would like to enter the challenge and do not have a blog,   here is a link to the page

I hope you will visit the CD Sunday Plus Challenge site, and remember if you want to enter the challenge you must use something from a CD, USB or digital material no matter how small and let us know where and what you used the material from,   and that it is a card or a project.    Here is a link to CD Sunday Plus Challenge blog  we would be pleased to see you.

CD Sunday Plus Challenge - # 56 Anything Goes

 Hi,

Time for another challenge at the CD Sunday plus blog, Today is Mothering Sunday in the UK,  we are still in lockdown,  we are not expecting anything to by opened up until middle of April, although the schools went back last Monday.  hopefully there will not be a spike in cases and the virus will continue to decrease.  This challenge is hosted by Jo.

For my card this fortnight I made and cut out a cat card in the shape of a cat,  I used for the background and image Jayne Netley Mayhew CD by Joanna Sheen,  I matted the image onto gold brush miri card by Hunkydory and decoupage the image.  I made two yellow gingham bows one around her neck and on the tail,  put two wobbly eyes and the sentiment is "Little Kitty's grow into big Kitty's".

CD Sunday Plus challenge has a Facebook page for those who would like to enter the challenge and do not have a blog,   here is a link to the page

Heart by the sea

 Hi,

This beautiful heart was designed by Ninetta, for an Italian group on facebook,  but she shared the pattern on her blog link to her blog

I tatted this heart in Lizbeth thread Spring gardens No 20,  and white for the flower,  I sewed a pink bead in the middle of the flower.

It’s a lovely pattern to tat and I really enjoyed making this heart,  I will be making more.

We are still in lockdown,  looks like the middle of April before the shops might reopen.

Have a lovely weekend

Happy St David’s Day

To all my Welsh followers Happy St David’s Day,

I tatted this daffodil a few years ago from the pattern by Jennifer Williams,  the inspiration for the daffodil design came from her garden.
I used Lizbeth thread no 20 Pineapple Parfait.
When I made this daffodil I only had a green button,  apologies for showing this daffodil again,  I forgot about st David’s day perhaps because we are still in lockdown. I hope that one day I can go shopping and the shops will be open,   They said on the news this morning that 12,000 pubs and restaurants have closed and will not be reopening.  I wonder what shops will be left to open when we finally get rid of this virus.

Stay sat and well.

Have a lovely day

Margaret
