Selection of christmas cards

Hi,

I could not show these card before  christmas,  I wanted to wait until they had been received,  so hopefully now they have all arrived.

They are all the same,  different shades of blue,  the paper was from stash and I cannot remember who they are from but they were perfect for these cards,  I am showing a couple I actually made half a dozen of these.    I used the snowflake die by Chloe and cut the snowflake die cuts to fit around the edge of the card,  the same blue paper as the back of the angel  and cut an oval in the card placing  and hang the christmas angel die by tonic in the middle.

I was really pleased with these cards,  it took time cutting the dies and angels  so I hope they liked their cards.

The last Christmas card

Hi,

As always my last Christmas card I make is to Vernon so this year was no exception,  it’s been a hard year for everyone one way and another,  one minute pass midnight on Boxing Day we enter trier three which is vitally a lockdown.   This virus has not finished with UK,  now we have a new piece of the virus to contend with and it’s spending very fast throughout the country.  We will only be going to collect our shopping from now on,  until things improve.

Back to Vernon's card I found this lovely image on Magical Christmas Moments CD but cupcake crafting,  i matted the image on blue holographic card, use a sheet of backing paper that went with the image and made a blue poinsettia with Debbi Moore’s poinsettia dies,   Added silver ribbon down the sides of the card and finished off with silver happy Christmas etc.

I hope you are enjoying your Christmas where ever you all,  we are together at home on our own.

Tatting advent calendar

 Hi

I promise to post more of the tatting advent calendar that is going on in Facebook,  well I am behind no surprise there,  my flowers are red  or white or even red and white.  I have changed the colour of the basket to gold,  so I have to redo a couple of pieces.

In the picture are day,  8,9,10,11,12.15 and 18,  I still have the leaves and as few large flowers to make but are having such dull dark days that the red has been hard to tat.

I a, using Lizbeth thread no 20.  Christmas red,  gold and white.   I have brought the material to sew it onto so when it’s all finished I can hopefully sew it over Christmas. (If I can catch up that is perhaps we better say new year )

Red snowflakes

Hi,

I was asked for some red snowflakes,   Above it the Hidden Rose snowflake which was designed by Muskaan last year, link to her blog http://tipsaroundthehouse.blogspot.com.

I

This snowflake is no 42 snowflake designed by Robin from her new book Four Dozen Tatted Snowflake,  which is on sale in her Etsy shop,  link to shop www.Etsy.com/shop/tattingbythebay

This snowflake is Diane’s snowflake #6. Which she design and blogged on the 23rd September 2012.

I did add a bit to this snowflake to make it slightly bigger,  on the arms I added a split ring  of 2-2-2-2/2-2-2-2,  and placed them on the chains.   This is a link to Diane’s blog https://lacelovinlibrarian.blogspot.com/

Hope you like them in red,  it was a change to do them in red rather than white.  They were tatted in Lizbeth thread no 20  Christmas red

Advent calendar tatting

 Hi,

On facebook at the moment we are doing an advent calendar tatting,  although I am a day behind this is how far I have got.  From the top of the picture is Day one working down to Day five,  I am working  in Lizbeth thread  no 20  white, red and cranberry bush.   I am not going to post every day but I will post regularly so you can see how it is going,  in the finish it will be a basket and I left the ends on so I can sew the flowers etc onto a pice of fabric.

I was asked yesterday by a comment that was left if I was still tatting,  had the person looked further down my blog she would have found tatting, so the answer is yes I am still tatting and will be hopefully for many more years to come,  this year I had been tarting for 48 years,  unless anything happens I hope to make 50 plus.

CD Sunday plus challenge - Anything goes # 50

 Hi

December already and we have just come out of another lockdown,  this is the last challenge on the CD Sunday plus blog for this year,  for this last challenge of the year it is hosted by Jo.  As always it is anything goes as long as it is a card or project using either a CD, USB or digital materiel.

For my card I have used a download from the Tattered lace magazine issue number 61.  I downloaded the backing paper and bouquet of flowers to match.  I cut out a vase and place it though an embossing folder to give it a design,  I decoupaged the bouquet of flowers cutting off the stalks,  and placing the flowers above the vase to make it look like a vase of flowers,  there are three layers of flowers,  the ribbons around the stalks I then placed coming out of the vase with the With love label from the bouquet at the side of the vase.   I matted the whole image onto a Hunkydory silver bushed card after putting it though an embossing folder,  unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the folder but I think its a cutterbug one.  Finished off the card with a ribbon down the side.

CD Sunday Plus challenge has a Facebook page for those who would like to enter the challenge and do not have a blog,   here is a link to the page

I hope you will visit the CD Sunday Plus Challenge site, and remember if you want to enter the challenge you must use something from a CD, USB or digital material no matter how small and let us know where and what you used the material from,   and that it is a card or a project.    Here is a link to CD Sunday Plus Challenge blog  we would be pleased to see you.

I hope you are having a lovely weekend, staying safe and well.
