May Pinterest Challenge

Hi,

Here is my Pinterest challenge item for May,  as you know Suzanne and I have been challenging each other to do or make something off Pinterest.
This King Elephant was originally made all grey but I prefer my pattern to the one used so I gave him blue pants and white top,
This is the back view showing his royal cape.   The crown on the top was made from Lizbeth thread no 20 in gold (I did not have any gold wool)
This is a link to Suzanne's blog she made a lovely bookmark, do pop over and have a look.
I hope you like my Elephant.

We had a great weekend and I will in a few days write a piece about the castle we went to.

Water lilly Brooches

Hi,

I hope you are having a lovely weekend and the weather is behaving itself.  This post is scheduled today.
These knitted flowers are easy to knit,   they are knitted with double knitting wool and made from two layers and then a knitted round,  which is easy just a few rows,  then run the thread around in little stitches putting any odd thread in the middle for padding and gather then sew in the middle.  I sewed a brooch pin on the back.  The pattern is from the book 20 to make Knitted flowers.
I have been a little slow at commenting on the blogs,  if you have not had a comment I am sorry I will catch up with you.
Until we meet again Take Care

CD Sunday Challenge - Stepping out

 Hi,

What a  beautiful day we have had today,   the sun is shining, the sky is blue,  its not that warm yet but its a lovely day hopefully it will stay for the Bank Holiday weekend we have this weekend.
This is the card for the CD Sunday Challenge - Stepping out,  I only just made it in time last week, so I put my best foot forward and got it made in plenty of time.
I cut the card in the shape of a boot,   it seems ages since I made a boot,  I covered the boot with a backing paper from Joanne Sheens CD Enchanted Dreams,  I made the holes up the side and put some ribbon in and out for the laces.  Then added a spray of flowers,  with leaves,  and roses in two shades of pink  with a butterfly,  and a die cut label and put a gold peel of greeting.
I really enjoyed making this card,  as I say its a long time since I did a boot, I think I must make a few more.  The craft room is taking shape,   its just filling all the boxes in the storage in cabinet,  I knew I had a lot of craft stash and I have found a few bits that I had forgotten,  Its good to have a spring clean every so often.
I hope you have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend, whether you stay at home or like us go away.
Until we meet again take care.

Anyone for a Swiss Roll

Hi,

I hope you are having a lovely weekend,  its amazing how fast this year is going,  I just wish the weather would settle down one day fine and lovely the next wet,  today its now cloudy and looks like it could rain any minute.
These knitted Swiss Rolls were the easiest cakes I have knitted,  they were knitted in double knitting wool and then rolled,  no stuffing required.  The pattern is from the book called 20 Knitted cakes.  These are definitely calorie free and washable.
Hope you are having a lovely weekend
Until we meet again take care

CD Sunday Challenge - Curious Cats

Hi,
This is very much on the last minute for this challenge,  I have been moving my craft stuff upstairs to my new craft room,   yes finally hubby let me have a craft room,  One reason he thought he would get peace and quite with me upstairs from punches and anything else that makes noise when crafting,  He's now realised that the floor broads in the spare room make more noise with me walking around than I did in the dinning room end of the lounge.  He's put the crafting cabinet together and a desk so its just a case of taking all my crafting bits upstairs.
Anyway this is my card for the challenge Curious Cats,  I used Joanna Sheens CD The Pamela West Collection,   I cut the cat out (Yes I think its head is a bit small)  covered the card with the backing paper that went with the image,  Matted the image on gold card with gold peel off corners.  Blue ribbon on the neck with a bell and tail.   With happy birthday on the tail.
I hope you like my card,
Have a lovely weekend and take care

Rick rack ribbon flowers

Hi,

Hope you are having a lovely weekend,  pity the weather could not be a bit better, we woke to rain and although the sun pops in and out there are a lot of black clouds running around.
Do you remember these rick rack flowers they were my pinterest challenge for March link to post.   Well after a bit of thought I decided to use the flowers and on some hair clips,  I did sew them on and then used a little glue just to give them extra security ,  they are fiddly to make but with different colours of rick rack ribbon they can be very pretty. The rick ribbon can be quite stiff so they do make very firm flowers.  There is a link on the march post to how to make them.
Until we meet again take care, and enjoy the bank holiday weekend.  Perhaps the next bank holiday weekend the weather will play ball and be better.

Roll up roll up all the fun at the fair

Hi,

I seen to have got the crafting bug this week after not doing much for the last month,  here are two more cards I made over the weekend.
These are from the free gift that was in the new Papercraft Inspirations magazine for June which arrived on Saturday.  Its not often I say its a lovely free gift, often they are not worth it, but this kit certainly got my mojo back.    They are lovely and although I kept the cards simple by only adding peel off's and some ribbon,  the glittery papers and die cut images are lovely.   I did not made them to thick as I find people done want cards that are too thick with lots of layers because of the cost of postage.  This kit was well worth the cost of the magazine, and I have a lot left for more cards.
The top one is for a wedding anniversary, or could even be done for a wedding or engagement.  and the two at the bottom are for children's birthday cards.

I hope you like them, I did enjoy making them,
Hope you have a lovely weekend
