Enchanted Ice Drop

Hi,
I don't have much to show you at the moment,  I have several things on the go including some knitting
buts it not finished yet.
Today I have an ice drop,  its seems ages since I made an ice drop and this is a lovely pattern called Enchanted Ice drop by Nicola Bowersox,  I used Lizbeth thread no 20 called Maple Butter,  not a normal colour for me and I am not sure if I like it.
Hope you have a lovely weekend

Splitting Mesh Tatting

Hi,

Recently  on Facebook there has been a discussion about fillet crochet and how it can be turned into tatting,  This resulted in several comments and then someone remember a pattern from Mary Konior called Network from the book Tatting with Visual patterns,

Well I had tatted this pattern over 30 years ago when the book was first published,  I found my piece and its the picture above tatted in coats thread no 20,  back then I could only get Coats thread or DMC from the local wool shop.

If you want to read more about the recent tatting idea on this type of tatting here is a link to Mushaan who placed a post on her blog

Hope you find it interesting

CD Sunday challenge plus - anything goes # 40

Hi,
Gosh that fortnight went quick and here we are with another challenge at the CD Sunday,  this fortnight the challenge is hosted byWynn,  it is as usual anything goes as long as its from a CD, USB or digital material.

For my card I used Wild at Heart CD by Pollyanna Pickering.   I made a fold back card this time and used the backing paper and image to match,  I used two images from the sheet placing the smaller one on the inside,  matting both images on bushed gold Hunkydory miri card,  I finished off the card with a few spikes of  grass  die leaves and gold peel offs

CD Sunday Plus challenge has a Facebook page for those who would like to enter the challenge and do not have a blog,   here is a link to the page

I hope you will visit the CD Sunday Plus Challenge site, and remember if you want to enter the challenge you must use something from a CD, USB or digital material no matter how small and let us know where and what you used the material from.  Here is a link to CD Sunday Plus Challenge blog  we would be pleased to see you.
I hope you are having a lovely weekend

Christmas Cards

Hi,

These two cards have already been on Facebook,  I am a little bit behind with blogging,   I have had these images for sometime,  on my new computer which I brought end of last year they have printed out as a large images,  which was OK,  I have decoupaged the poinsette flowers added silver glitter and my glitter glue which gives the greeny effect.   They are both slightly different even though they are both the same image .   I think the image came from Crafts you print some years ago but I am not sure.

Hope you are having a lovely weekend at least the sun is shinning and the wind has dropped

Lock down crochet Blanket

Hi,

Crochet is not really my thing,  but after winning a prize from   I thought it was time I renewed my hook with some wool and relearned crochet.    Well after finding this lovely pattern on YouTube and having a refresher lesson from my granddaughter,  I started with a granny square only the granny square grew into more than one in fact ended up as 50 +,  I used up some of my stash of wool as Vernon says I have enough to stock a wool shop,  not quite,   I made this blanket after putting them together and then working an edging with bits of the left over wool from the squares,  this is the result.
The pattern is called  Tricolour square by  Bella Coco,  the original pattern was done with three colours but I liked it with two and stuck with it,    it measures 35 and half inches or 90 cms wide,  by  51 and half inches or 131 cms long.
I was brave enough this week to go into a shop and buy some cream cotton material to back the blanket.

Yes I am happy with it,  so my hook will be renewing itself with some wool,  a little more practice before tackling the  bag pattern, I won from Joëlle.

CD Sunday plus Challenge - Anything goes # 39

Hi,
Another fortnight has gone by and here we are in July,  this year has gone quick even though we have been in lock down.   Its been a year on catching up on things that need doing and spring cleaning the house plus.
As usual its anything goes as long as its from a CD, USB or digital material,  and this fortnight the challenge is hosted by our new member Jo, welcome to the group Jo and I hope you will be happy with us.

For my card I have used Sketch book collection chapter IV Woodland birds by Pollyanna Pickering CD.  form the image and backing paper.
I always try to do something different for every challenge,  I hope I managed it this time,  I matted the image onto bushed silver Hunkydory card,  placed a strip of dark blue card down the middle and finished off the card with silver peel offs and silver peel off fish.   I wanted to make it a more masculine card for this challenge.
