Happy Chinese New Year

Hi,

I’m afraid I forgot when I left the UK that it would be Chinese New Year,  this yesr it’s the year of the pig.
So I wish everyone a very Happy Chinese New Year and hope that it will be a good year for us all.

CD Sunday Challenge - #3 - Anything Goes using something from a Craft CD

Hi,
This is a scheduled post as I am still away,   Its time for another challenge at  CD Sunday challenge and its Megs turn to the host the challenged this fortnight.
For my card I used Pet set CD by LaPashe,  for the image and matching background.  I matted the image on brown embossed card,  and made a feather embellishment for the card,  using four feathers tied together with ribbon and threaded beads on the tails.

Another tatted heart

Hi,

This is another heart I made with the thread I had left over on the shuttles.  this heart is called Butterfly Heart by Irene Woo,  I have done a lot of these hearts and I love the pattern.
I used Lizbeth metallic thread in Raspberry Pink

Tatted heart exchange on Facebook

Hi,

Today is the day for the tatted hearts to be exchanged on Just Tatting group on Facebook,  This is my heart I sent to my partner in Canada,  I did also enclose a few other bits in the envelope.

I used the new Lizbeth Metallic thread called Raspberry Pink in size 20 and added a small heart charm to the heart.  I used the pattern Valentines Day heart by Edda Guastalla,   

I hope she gets this in time as I posted it on the 14th January as I am now away on a bucket holiday in Norway.

CD Sunday Challenge - #2 Anything Goes using something from a craft CD

Hi,
its time for our second challenge of the year at CD Sunday and this fortnight the challenge is hosted by Jane,  its another anything goes as long as you use something from a CD either in part or for the whole card.
For my card this time I used Enchanted Dreams CD by Joanna Sheen,  the image is my favorite and I matted that onto glitter blue card, and used the backing sheet from the image.  The butterflies are die cut from rainbow parchment paper using the Apple Blossom Butterfly die from the floral frames die and the small butterflies from  Butterfly Garden die by Creative Expressions.   Finished off with Hunydory Diamond Sparkles.

CD Sunday Challenge - Anything goes

Happy New Year it’s Time for the first challenge of the year on CD Sunday Challenge blog,  The challenge is  #1 Anything goes   There are a few changes and the first is that the challenges will be numbered.  the second is that there will be no prizes awarded,  except for the previously mentioned three special occasions.  the top 3 for each challenge will continue to be chosen by the challenge host and the result posted on the next appropriate challenge.  Our host for this first challenge is Carol.   Our rule still stands that a CD need to be used either as something on the card comes from a CD,  either the whole card or just a small part of a card.
For my card I used the CD A walk in the Countryside by creative crafting.   this is a lovely Cd with some gorgeous images,  I used the image and backing paper to match,  matting the image on a piece of the new Hunydory blushed Miri  gold card and decoupaging the image.

Last years Poinsettia

Hi,

Poinsettias are one plant that does not keep well usually they dont keep from one year to the next.   I have never kept one so long usually they die off by September.   Well this plant has not only survived the year but has turned colour and given us red flower brackets.
Poinsettia originally come from the Canary Islands,  and they need from July 12 hours darkness and 12 hours daylight,  in equal amounts,   thats what they do in commercial greenhouses to ensure they are red,  white or pink for christmas.
Did this plant get that well no,  in the very hot weather I took him off the windowsill and put him in the shade of the spare bedroom,  when the weather cooled down he went back on the craft room windowsill.   Watering was when I when to water him.
At the moment he's on the fireplace in our lounge so we can enjoy him once again.  No doubt he will be back in the craft room when he finished flowering.
