CD Sunmday challenge - Anything goes # 79

 Hi,

Time for another challenge at CD Sunday,  as usual its anything goes as long as its from a CD, USB or digital material.  This fortnight Jocelyn is the host.

For my card this fortnight,  my original card did not work I was going to make the card shape of a butterfly,  well lets just say it did not work and would not stand up,  the second attempt went pear shaped,  this is the third attempt,  by now my husband was saying give up,  I dont give up that easy,   I used a backing paper from Gnomes and fairies CD by La Pashe,  the butterfly was cut from the Butterfly kiss die, moonstone dies by Hunkydory,  the backing aper on the butterfly is from Enchanted dreams Cd by Joanna Sheen,  and the top layer of the butterfly was cut using the die on parchment paper.  Finished off with pearl gems on the body of the butterfly and peel offs.

CD Sunday Plus challenge has a Facebook page for those who would like to enter the challenge and do not have a blog,   here is a link to the page

I hope you will visit the CD Sunday Plus Challenge site, and remember if you want to enter the challenge you must use something from a CD, USB or digital material no matter how small and let us know where and what you used the material from,   and that it is a card or a project.    Here is a link to CD Sunday Plus Challenge blog  we would be pleased to see you.

I hope you are having a lovely weekend

Hi,
its time for our second challenge of the year at CD Sunday and this fortnight the challenge is hosted by Jane,  its another anything goes as long as you use something from a CD either in part or for the whole card.
For my card this time I used Enchanted Dreams CD by Joanna Sheen,  the image is my favorite and I matted that onto glitter blue card, and used the backing sheet from the image.  The butterflies are die cut from rainbow parchment paper using the Apple Blossom Butterfly die from the floral frames die and the small butterflies from  Butterfly Garden die by Creative Expressions.   Finished off with Hunydory Diamond Sparkles.

Shape up Birthday

Hi,
I am hoping I am in time for the challenge set by Crafting with Dragonflies,   I made this shape card using the measurements from a beautiful christmas card I was sent.   Having not seen this shape before I thought I would have a go at making one.  This is actually my second card with this shape,  but I don't know what this shape is called,  can anyone help me with its name.
I used a dark blue card and folded the card into a box shape leaving a piece behind,  I then made a second card this time its a white card with pale blue stars on and placed the image from Joanna Sheens CD Enchanted Dreams on the front.  I finished off the card with white die corner die cuts, a white butterfly, and silver peel offs with a silver disc saying happy birthday.
The whole card dos fold flat for posting.

CD Sunday Challenge - Punch it out

Hi,
This fortnight the CD Sunday Challenge is Punch it out chosen by Wynn,  she wants to see punches and dies used as well as something from a CD of course.
This has been a hard card to photo I have tried with so many backgrounds so I hope these photos show you the card clearly.
I went for a different shape and I used the backing paper from Joanna Sheens Enchanted Dreams,  and used several dies and butterflies to make the card and finished it off with some gems on the bodies of the butterflies.   I did enjoy making this card more than I did photoing it.
I hope you will visit the CD Sunday Challenge site, and remember if you want to enter the challenge you must use something from a CD no matter how small and let us know which CD you used.   Here is a link to the CD Sunday Challenge blog,   we would be pleased to see you.
Have a lovely weekend
Take care

CD Sunday Challenge - No image or photo

Hi,
This is my first card for the CD Sunday Challenge as a team member,
No image or photo that was a hard one,  but I got there in the end,   I used Joanna Sheens CD Enchanted Dreams for the backing paper, which had the butterflies printed down one side,  sheer ribbon for the bow down the side,   I brought the die cut spray last year at the Bristol Parchment show and added gems in the centre of the flowers,  and finished off the card with gold small butterflies and gold happy birthday.
I hope you like my card.

CD Sunday Challenge - something beginning with B......

 Hi,
It seems ages since I posted anything on there but its not to say I have not been doing anything,  its just been a busy couple of weeks, hopefully I can catch up this week ???
This fortnights challenge on the CD Sunday Challenge is Something beginning with B....,   I hope you have got it because when I asked my husband he said blue,  nope my something beginning with B..... is Butterfly actually with the amount of butterflies perhaps we should make it Butterflies.
I thought I would keep this card simple and clean,  so I used Joanna Sheens Enchanted Dreams CD,  the image and the belonging backing paper,  I mounted the image on cream card and added a pink and blue ribbon making them into one bow,  and then added the parchment butterflies with pink  self adhesive gems  in the middle,  one gem thought it was better to stick to my finger than on the butterfly no matter how hard I tried to get it to stick on the butterfly it firmly thought one finger or the other was better, half and hour later it was on the butterfly with glue.
I hope you like my card,
Until the next time take care

CD Sunday Challenge - Add a button or buttons

Hi,
On this very wet morning here in Somerset,  we had three lovely days sunshine but very cold very hard frosts at night and now we are back into the rain.
The CD Sunday Challenge this fortnight is add a button or buttons,  I am not a lover of buttons,  I have a bag of buttons for crafting with so after getting the whole bag out and looking I found these different shapes,  unfortunately the bag seems to have only one or two of each shape, colour or size of all the buttons.  So choice was limited.
For the image and backing paper I choose Joanna Sheens CD Enchanted Dreams,  these are lovely images always more in the picture than the eye sees at first,  you really have to look deeply into the picture to find the whole small scenes.  I matted the image onto gold card and then embossed a sheet of pink card for a base,   I used my new dies for the leaves added bow of ribbon and a flower to complete the spray at the top,  and then placed the buttons top and bottom.
Not my best effort,  the mojo disappeared when it came to the buttons,  but something different.
Hope you have a lovely day and stay dry.
                                  Hugs
                               Margaret

Today is our Wedding Anniversary

Hi,
Today is our Wedding Anniversary,  Vernon and I have been married 13 years,  gosh how time has flown, it does not feel 13 years.
This is the card I made him I used Joanna Sheens Enchanted Dreams CD,   for the image and backing paper,  I added a blue butterfly in the top corner,  the roses I brought off a market stall in Worksop when we went up for a hospital appointment in Sheffield,   Worksop has a brilliant market and there is a lovely stall full of lace, ribbons etc,  I could spend a fortune as things are cheaper up there.  The die cut was sent from a friend (thank you) which I coloured blue with pro-marker pen,  The ribbon and bow was actually a piece of ribbon I kept from our wedding cake, I knew it would come  and I added blue heart gems in the corner,  and the Ivy leaves are from stock.
We went out for a lovely meal last night with friends,  today we are just having a lazy day.
Hope you are having a lovely weekend.

I hope you like my card.
Until we meet again Take care

CD Sunday Challenge - Stepping out

 Hi,

What a  beautiful day we have had today,   the sun is shining, the sky is blue,  its not that warm yet but its a lovely day hopefully it will stay for the Bank Holiday weekend we have this weekend.
This is the card for the CD Sunday Challenge - Stepping out,  I only just made it in time last week, so I put my best foot forward and got it made in plenty of time.
I cut the card in the shape of a boot,   it seems ages since I made a boot,  I covered the boot with a backing paper from Joanne Sheens CD Enchanted Dreams,  I made the holes up the side and put some ribbon in and out for the laces.  Then added a spray of flowers,  with leaves,  and roses in two shades of pink  with a butterfly,  and a die cut label and put a gold peel of greeting.
I really enjoyed making this card,  as I say its a long time since I did a boot, I think I must make a few more.  The craft room is taking shape,   its just filling all the boxes in the storage in cabinet,  I knew I had a lot of craft stash and I have found a few bits that I had forgotten,  Its good to have a spring clean every so often.
I hope you have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend, whether you stay at home or like us go away.
Until we meet again take care.

CD Sunday Challenge - Butterfly

Hi,
It so nice to be able to rejoin this challenge, it seems weeks or months since I did any cards for the CD Sunday Challenge.
This week its Butterflies,   I used one of my favorite images,  although I don't think my mojo worked very well this week as I have cold and the Painter is in doing the hall, its been a hard week,  well never mind here is my card
I used Joanna Sheens  Enchanted Dreams CD,  for the image and the backing paper.  The butterfly is a die cut which was sent to me from Sue, thank you,  its beautiful and I glittered the butterfly which I layed with a large and small and added blue gems in the middle.  The flowers are from stock,  I had a mad moment I thought I would glitter the flower,  I asked my husband to pin pick the new bottle of glue, he split the side of the tube as well and well it went a bit of everywhere.

The ribbon was two bows put together, and left to hang down for a change.  The leave flourish is from Suzanne,  thank you Suzanne,  I wish my husband would let me have a die cutting machine,  he considers I don't do enough card making
I really enjoyed making this card and I hope you like it too.
Well the sun is shining for a change time to clear up now the painter has finished and put some things back,  next it will be the carpet man.
                Hugs

The CD Sunday Challenge - Wonderful Wings

Hi,
From a very very wet windy Somerset,  If you thought spring was coming today's weather makes it further away than ever, heavy snow in the north of England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland, floods in the south west,  but here its rain and oh boy has it rained.  Don't think we are not getting the snow it looks like we shall have some on Sunday,   and its going to stay cold until Easter.  Its more like January than March.  enough of the weather I hear you say.
Today I bring you my card for the CD Sunday Challenge this week its Wonderful wings.  As I have run out of ink for my printer, I went though my craft papers to see if I had anything printed and not used and found this one, I am sure its from Joanna Sheens Enchanted Dreams, which I used for the backing paper.  I used this beautiful die cut tree that Suzanne so kindly  cut for me,( Suzanne its wonderful and thank you),  I cut out a piece of green miri board for the backing of the tree and then silicone glued it to give it height off the card. The Peel off butterflies were put on parchment paper and embossed then glued onto the design and the ribbon is from Joanna Sheens on line shop.  Finished off with gold peel off's and pearls which I won for my card from a previous challenge. They were sent to me by Carol from the CD Sunday Challenge and I cant remember which card won but it was last year.
I love butterflies and they have such beautiful wings that's why I chose them for this challenge.
I hope where ever you are you are warm, dry and cosy and until we meet again take care

               Hugs
           Margaret

The CD Sunday Challenge - Bingo

Hi,

On this dull day here in Somerset to which we have had some rain this morning and I would not be surprised if it does not rain again today. Well that's face it the sun is shining somewhere in the world but its not here.  At the time of writing this I am watching the show jumping at Greenwich.   The person who design these brilliant jumps and scenery needs a pat on the back,   to me they are brilliant and shows so many parts of London and around.   If you have not seen them than you have missed a real joy.   The medal table is going up, after a slow start I wonder how many we will end up with.
On to today's card, this is for the CD Sunday Challenge,  this week it is Bingo,  see grid below and list,  everything has to be in a straight line.  I hope I have got this card right?

I found an image that I could cut into sections and still have the picture,  the image and backing papers are from the Joanna Sheens CD Enchanted Dreams,   This is my favourite CD,  I have not used this image before but I am reasonably happy with the picture.  One thing is you cant see all the elements in the picture,  these pictures have lots of little pictures within the wings of the butterfly.
I cut the picture into a grid,  matted it on gold miri board, I thought my lines were not cut very well as I need a new blade in the guillotine so I put some gold peel off lines to tidy it up,   used flowers,  two peel off butterflies which I put on some of the backing paper and cut them out.    Two pieces of ribbon and a bow on the side,   and gems in the top corner.                                                                                                So the three elements I used from the grid was Gems, Flowers and Ribbon
I hope you are having a good day,  enjoying the Olympics
Until we meet again Take care
                  Hugs

The Sunday CD Challenge - Imagine

Hi,
Its been a lovely day with sunshine, not very warm though, they say its going to get warmer towards the weekend.
My new washing machine arrived today at least I can do some washing, our friends Ruth and Mervyn let me do a load at the beginning of the week, but I have a few items I want to do over the weekend.
Today I am showing my card for the Sunday CD Challenge, link here to the blog. I am a little bit late with this card, I am just in time for this challenge. This is week it is Imagine, I used Joanna Sheen's CD Enchanted Dreams. I have not used this image before, the backing paper is the matching paper to the image.
I added two yellow flowers and wrapped the green ribbon bows amongst the flowers for a change. I matted the image on a pale yellow miri sheet and used fancy scissors to cut around the shape. I then added green/gold peel offs down the sides and corners.
I was surprised how many comments I got on my card last week, I did not think that using a piece of lace from my old knickers would prove so interesting and the card got a joint second, I was really shocked it got anything let alone a second.

I hope you are keeping well and not down with the bugs that are floating around at the moment.
Until we meet again take care.
Hugs
Margaret

The CD Sunday Challenge - Wings and Legs

Hi,
Its quite mild today and they say its going to get even milder this week, what a funny month February has been. I hope we don't get snow next week as we are going away for a few days towards the end of the week.
I am sick of this bug, I have had it for a week and feel absolutely weak and tried, I still have the pains in my stomach and feel as if I have a cold now, the cough never seems to get any better. Anyway enough of me today I am showing you this weeks challenge card for the CD Sunday challenge which this week is Wings and legs. link here

This beautiful image comes from the Joanna Sheen's Cd Enchanted Dreams, its not one I have used before but I love the way the butterflies are pulling her along on a flower. I put the image on a blue card and punched the corners twice, once with one that's makes a slit for the corners to slid into and then the rounder corner punch. I put the multi colour peel off butterflies onto acetate and cut them out and stuck them together so the large butterfly has three layers, and the one at the bottom has two layers. The background paper I wanted to do something different so I folded it and made pleats for a change, the background paper is the one that goes with the image on the CD
I finished off the card with a blue ribbon from the Joanna Sheen online shop and silver peel offs.
I hope where ever you are you are keeping well and until we meet again take care
Hugs

Butterfly Cards

Hi,
What a beautiful day here in Somerset, after the bad weather we have had over the last week, its a real treat to see the sun, although the temperatures have remind high for this time of year its been very wet.
After the horrendous crash on the M5 on Friday night, my sympathies go out to any family who has lost someone, the weather was bad all day and the road would have been very wet, with patchy fog. At present the road is still closed and being the main motorway down to the West Country it does carry a vast amount of traffic. The cause of this accident is not known and may take some time to find out. Motorways are the safest roads we have and its been a long since there has been such a bad accident.
Back to today's post these two cards have been made with the same butterfly stamp and heat embossed. The top card I used red embossing power and backed it on red flowery card, with red ribbon and finished off with silver peel offs. The other card I used turquoise embossing power, with backing paper from Joann Sheen's Enchanted dreams CD, finished off with white ribbon. Both ribbon have come from Joanna Sheen's online shop and are really good quality. I have not made any cards for two weeks and these I was saving to use on schedule posts while I was away, anyway I thought it was time I put something on my blog and to say I am getting better slowly, this flu is taking a bit to shake off.
I have been having trouble with my shoulder, neck and arm for some time and tomorrow they are going to put a corrosion injection in my shoulder to try and to reduce the pain, just another thing in a long line of things this year, hopefully after our holiday in a couple of weeks time a the new year approaching life might get better, but I am not holding my breath.
I hope you like these two cards, I think by now everyone knows I love butterflies.
I hope you are having a lovely weekend, and until we meet again take care
Hugs

The Sunday CD challenge - Winter Wonderland

Hi,
What a beautiful day, yesterday was lovely and today is just as good but warmer, Summer has come back if only for a short while.
Today I bring you my card for the Sunday CD Challenge, this week it is winter wonderland. Oh I spent a long time thinking about this card and printed off several ideas and then came to this image. Its from my favorite Cd of Joanna Sheen, Enchanted Dreams,
I love this picture with the snowy Owls flying across her cape and the village scene at the bottom and northern lights at the top of the image, there is so much in these pictures and always something new every time you look at them. I mounted the image on silver card and used the backing paper off the CD matching the image. At the top I put white snowflakes and crystal blue flowers and clear gems in the middle of the snowflakes. At the bottom I made parchment flowers spaced then with ice blue sheer ribbon and the blue crystal flowers amongst the parchment flowers with clear gems in their middles. Glittered the flowers and image and finished off with ice blue sheer ribbon tired down the side.

I hope where ever you are the weather is as nice as it is here, take care until we meet again here in blog land.

Hugs

Margaret
