New Flower Pins and Suzanne's Cup cake and Flower Pin

Hi,
I hope you all had a lovely weekend and all set for another week, today I am giving you my new flower pins. These are from a Dahlia pattern from the

http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/directory/flowers.php

This is a close up on one of them, I have used variegated double knitting wool and sewn a pin on the back so they can be worn.

This is Suzanne's cup cake that she wanted for her car, she has a picture of it hanging in her car on her blog http://www.suzannescards.blogspot.com/, I added two pieces of ribbon to the top so she could hang it at whatever length she wanted, if you see a car in Essex with a cup cake hanging then that's Suzanne's car.

Close up showing the top and the seed beads as a centre of the flower.

This is Suzanne's flower pin that I made her.

I hope your enjoy my blog today I look forward to seeing you again in blog land. Until the next time take care.

Hi,

Another beautiful day here in Somerset, and warmer today, the forecast is good for the next few days with the weather getting warmer over the next few days.
These cards were made from my new stamps, Vernon brought me at the show at Shepton Mallet in April. The water pump and the cottage, I coloured these with pro markers, I have limited colours at the moment but they are increasing slowly, as I brought some more this week, from Joanna Sheen and they arrived on Friday so now I have some more to play with. I never thought I would enjoy stamping and using of the pro markers looked so hard. I have found them so easy and will be buying some more as and when funds allow.

This is from another set of stamps I brought, they are from the Dawn Bibby range which I treated myself to for my birthday, this card was on my table yesterday and sold.
It was very quite day yesterday at the craft fair, lovely weather but unfortunately they did not come out to our fair, hopefully next month will be better.
Today I went to the large market at Cheddar, for some Meat, there is also has a car boot market as well, I found a stall selling craft items, she said she was giving up to do icing and selling her craft items, I brought some printable acetate and vellum, two large stamps, and a keepsake board, and a few peel offs, I know I have saved a lot of money but I still have to work it how much I saved. One of the stamps is an American wedding from Stampendous and the other was a large butterfly, they should make some nice cards, watch this space.
I hope you have enjoyed reading my blog today and look forward to seeing you again in blog land, until then take care

New Commissioned Items

Hi,

I hope the weather is better where you are, today has been wet with showers and a little sunshine. They say the weather will improved at the weekend, which will be nice as I am doing a craft fair on Saturday at the Cheese and Grain in Frome.

Today Frome has been busy as the Frome Treasure Trove has been on display in the Library, it was dug up by a metal detecterist in a field near Frome. There are several rumours as to what the value of the hoard will be anything up to a million pounds, Good luck to the finder and I hope he does well when the amount will be announced later in the year.

Now back today's piece, this card was commissioned for a taxi driver in Frome who is walking around Wales starting on the 1st August raising money for a cancer charity. He will be camping as he goes. Good Luck to him and I hope he does well collecting as he goes.

This is a flower piece that was also commissioned for someone who wanted a piece to sew on a plain blouse. It was knitted with no 2o cotton on number 13 needles, and silver beads in the centre. This is her second one, the first was the same as this one was white but unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of it.

I hope you have enjoyed reading my short blog today and I look forward to seeing you again in blog land, until then take care and have a nice day.

Friendship Card and Thank Yous

Hi

I afraid I am behind due to illness, I am waiting to go to the hospital, I am in pain 24 hours a day now and on very strong painkillers so please accept my apologises for this post has been delayed.

The card above is a friendship card for a do crafts member for July, I hope she likes it as it is in the post to her. The image has strawberries on her dress and I have placed a strawberries on the card , I coloured the image with pro makers, I have only just started using pro makers and they are great but its just getting used to using them.

On my birthday at the beginning of the month I received several cards and I have put them on this piece so you can see them.
This card is from my penfriend Pauline who lives in Suffolk we have been writing to each other for years but have never meet. I hope one day we will meet up.

This card is from Angie (angiebabe) who I meet from do crafts and lives in Castle Cary we now meet up every 6 weeks or so and have lunch together, last time we meet up we were chatted up see post crafting lunch with a twist. We are meeting up on Wednesday I think we might try another pub this time.

This card was from Suzanne, and a present of a bar of chocolate,

she must have known that I love chocolate, Suzanne lives in Essex and we have become firm friends over the last year. There will be a post later on this week as I have a surprise for her.

Lastly this card was sent to me from some friends who have been friends for year, it was not handmade but I wanted to show you because I have never seen a card like it, It was made by Hallmark and folded in half and when pulled out become a cake and candles. I have looked at this card but I don't know if I can figure out how they made it.

I hope you have enjoyed reading my blog today and look forward to seeing you again in blog land. until we see you again take care and have a nice day

Anyone for cup Cakes

Hi,

Another beautiful day in Somerset, it may not be quite so hot as in London, but its been up to 27c, beautiful blue sky and sunshine, I hope this continues for the whole summer.

It would be nice to have some rain during the night and then have the sun during the day to enjoy, it would save watering my garden.

Today I am showing you my knitted cup cakes, I found the pattern in a woman's weekly magazine recently, and then I found the flowers on the Internet from :-http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/directory/flowers.php

They have some great patterns for flowers, I did these flowers in different colours and put seed beads in the middle. I have only put a couple of close ups for you as I don't want to bore you with a picture of each one.

This special cup cake was for Emma one of our ladies in the Frome office who left today, she wants to start up a cup cake business and is looking for a kitchen to use, unfortunately she is unable to use her kitchen as she has cats. She makes wonderful cup cakes and has done some for weddings. Again I did put seed beads in the middle and I made the flower with two layers the bottom layer is green although the picture does not show its green. These are her favorite colours. I hope one day she manages to get her wish and starts a little business of her own.

I hope you are enjoying this beautiful weather where ever you are, and you have enjoyed reading my blog today, I look forward to seeing you again in blog land.

Take care

Happy American Independence Day and My Birthday

Hi,

Happy American Independence day yes its my Birthday today, I am a very independent Lady well that's what my husband found out when he meet me, sorry to say over the last eight year of marriage I have lost a little but I still consider myself an independent Lady.

July is a lovely month to have a birthday, Foxglove is the flower of the month, Ruby is the stone of the month. When I worked in the City of London I used to walk from the Bank to the office all the American company's used to have the flags flying, it might have been the stars and strips but I used to think how nice on my birthday, well that was years ago I don't know if they still do but it always looked so nice in the sunshine.

We went out for a meal last night, we were going to the George at Nettlebridge, but we walked out the menu had changed and it was a bit odd, the steak for example was the same price it has been but it said it came with peas and a tomato plus anything else i.e. mushrooms 65p onion rings 65p a fried egg 60p but no mention about chips or jacket potato, we looked at the menu and left, drove to another pub in Castle Cary called the Brook House and had a wonderful meal, and for less than the other pub had steak and everything. I might add I actually had surf and turf it was month watering. Followed by a Baileys cheesecake naughty for me as I am a diabetic. But you only have one birthday a year, Don't you???

I want to say thank you for all the messages I have had from the do crafts members and the cards pictured here,

Thank you Ginny the card is lovely as you can see with an embossed panel which has not shown up very well and the vase of flowers
The lovely heart is from Janette, its sweet and beautiful, along with some crafting goodies, which I will enjoy

This is a present to myself, I brought from QVC some #Dawn Bibby stamps which they had on offer on Tuesdays show and they arrived yesterday.

I hope you enjoy today and thank you for visiting my blog today, look forward to seeing you pass by this way again soon,

Have a nice day as they say over the pond,

Comissioned Cards

Hi,

Today we had rain so at least I dont have to water my garden tonight, its cloudy again now so it looks as if we might get some more rain.

The answer to the question the bird is a Sparrow Hawk, they eat small birds so although I got a nice picture of him/her I don't want it eating my garden birds. Thanks goes to Suzanne for telling what the bird is.

Today I am bring you two commissioned card, the card at the top is for someone who is having a baby and they don't know what it will be, I was asked to make a card for a baby and keep it neutral, I used a cream card and yellow back ground with a gold teddy bear in the middle, the bootees are yellow and the pram is also yellow and orange, with white ribbon, she was delighted with her card.

The next card is for an 80th Birthday card, he liked my red rose card with this image and wanted something similar also he did not mind what colour I did it but I felt is might look a bit lovey, as he was only a neighbour, so I made a card and put a lilac glitter card under the cut out rose panel, mounted it on gold card and then on purple card, lilac ribbon down the side and lilac and gold peel off border down the side. Finished off with gold peel offs.

I hope you have enjoyed reading my blog today and I look forward to seeing you again in blog land. Until then have a nice day and take care

What is it?????

Hi,

I hope you are still enjoying the lovely weather, we have rain forecasted tonight and tomorrow, my garden really does need some rain, I am not watering my tubs and tomato plants tonight as it is cloudy and looks like rain.

This is not what I was going to put on my blog today, but this bird is what I found in my garden today. I have no idea what it is, he did look a young bird. I heard a strange chip that sounded a bit like a dripping tap this morning but could not see what bird was making the noise.
I have a lot of sparrows, and blackbirds a couple of blue tits but nothing outstanding , which is hard to believe as we live within reach of fields so you would think my garden would be full of lovely birds but I just don't seem to get them even though I put out food in the winter and any bits of left over bread even in the summer.

So can anyone please tell me what this bird is.

I hope you have enjoyed my blog today and look forward to seeing you pass by again soon

Take care

Hugs

Margaret
