Hot Hot and very Hot

 Hi,

Usually I have something to put on my blog,  I seem to have slowed up over the last few weeks,  but this last week,  the heat,  yes very unusual for me the heat just took over.

The weather forecast said extreme heat for the South West of England where I live and they were not wrong,  it was extreme.  My body just gave up,  I ended up just sitting no tatting, crochet and just a few rows of knitting in the evening.  My craft room was so hot I could not do any card making,  there's at least four cards waiting to be finished or even started as I have printed work for them to be done.   Hopefully as it cools down I can get them and get back to crafting.

Today is a lot cooler but we have had thunderstorms on Friday most of the night and last night,  today is a lot more comfortable and I am feeling better,. The heat played on my fibromyalgia and made me feel quite poorly.  Hopefully back to crafting this next week.

I am knitting some baby clothes for a new arrival in Vernons family,  and then my hairdresser said she was expecting as well,  so the knitting needles will be busy for a little while.

I hope you are all well,  staying safe and cool.

Margaret

  4. Oh, Margaret, the heat is so hard on folks, especially those with FMS. I hope it does not trigger an exacerbation for you. I hope you have some fans to help keep the air flowing for you - that helps tremendously. I DO understand how fatiguing the heat is, as I also have FMS and live in FLorida. During summer months, if I go out at all, I must use a handicap parking sticker to park close to the store, as the heat rising from the paved lots trigger my diseases. Please take care of yourself. Hoping you soon have some relief! hugs, de

  5. We are in the South as well Margaret and like you it has been very, very hot - it affects my Rheumatoid Arthritis as well.
My craft room is south facing with a large bay window, it is lovely most of the time, fantastic light and nice and warm in the winter but I have not been able to get in it this past week.
Thank goodness it has cooled down now, a house caught fire in our town on Saturday, it was struck by lightening, thankfully everyone escaped safely but the house was wrecked along with their next door neighbours!
Hopefully that will be the worst of the heat this summer, we can hope!
    Take care.

  7. Hello Margaret, yes the extreme heat just saps all your energy, and I'm sorry to hear that it really affects your condition. We are just not used to it. Just take things easy, get back to crafting when you feel more comfortable. We are very dull up here in the Highlands and cooler, Kate x

  8. I'm 'above' you on the UK map Margaret in South Wales. It was 34 degrees in my garden - I found it way to hot to do much. The back of the house gets full sun so all doors, windows and curtains were closed until late evening. The front doesn't get any sun so I was able to have the windows open - not that there was any breeze to blow through! It's dropped to 23 degrees today with a cool breeze. Hope it's cooler where you are and that you're feeling much 'betterer' (that's a Carol family saying!).

  9. Hope you will have some cooler weather soon! It has been hot here in Milwaukee also, but the forecast looks to become more comfortable in a few days.
