Holiday tatting

Hi,

We came back from Spain recently,  this is our second holiday in Europe this year and as always I took my tatting with me,  we went by coach to Roses in Spain.   We had a lovely holiday and as usually we were well looked after by the coach driver and his partner courier.

I took my go to project,  as many of you know I always have something to take with me when we need to wait for an appointment or have time when at the hairdressers,  or waiting for Vernon when he has his hair cut.  Well I finished the bookmark,  and made a butterfly with left over thread on the shuttle,   Several ladies on our evening table were interested to see tatting,  in showing them the bookmark and butterfly,  one of them decided to buy the bookmark,  for her friend who is ill at the moment and that is her favourite colour.  I hope her friend did like them. The butterfly was Mary Knori’s butterfly from her book and the bookmark was Flower Meadow by Christine  Eichler pattern from the archive.org

Then I also finished the dancer by Frivolite Con Sabor       in white and yellow thread for Sue our courier,  this is the third time we have her and each time I have given her a piece of tatting,  this dancer always looks Spanish so I thought it would be good to give her one,  i finished this on our free day so she would not see it,  I hope she liked it.

Then I made three angels on the way back, pattern SSSR angel by Anne Bruvold  In white Lizbeth thread no 20,

It’s nice to feel someone appreciates what we make,  it’s a two day travelling to Spain and another two days back,  staying over night in France,    I can’t tat in the car but I can on the coach,  as long as I don’t drop my hook,  I take a spare now as I lost one when we did Scotland by coach.

I still have to go through the photos,  and tell you about our holiday
