CD Sunday Challenge - Anything goes # 58

 Hi,

Time for another challenge at the CD Sunday challenge blog,  Here we are in  April already,   hopefully tomorrow we will find out what might start opening,  I am longing for my hair to be done.  This challenge is bring hosted by me.

For my card I wanted something different,   I found a free image of a  Golden Eagle image on Google,  the backing paper came from the American Frontier CD by Joanna Sheen,  and the glitter trees I die cut from the festive collection - winter trees by Creative Expressions.  I matted the image on silver glitter card and decoupaged the image.

CD Sunday Plus challenge has a Facebook page for those who would like to enter the challenge and do not have a blog,   here is a link to the page

I hope you will visit the CD Sunday Plus Challenge site, and remember if you want to enter the challenge you must use something from a CD, USB or digital material no matter how small and let us know where and what you used the material from,   and that it is a card or a project.    Here is a link to CD Sunday Plus Challenge blog  we would be pleased to see you.

I hope you are having a lovely weekend

Rejected card

Hi,
This is my rejected card, I made it and then rejected it,  it was originally for the CD Sunday challenge Winter in the Mountains,   but I felt it was not good enough so I did another card which you saw a couple of weeks ago.
For this card I used American Frontier CD by Joanna Sheen,   for the background and image I die cut the trees and then layered them on the side.,
We all have cards we make and are not happy with for the purpose but its now going to be a christmas card,   I wont be discarding it perhaps I was being hard on myself with not liking it.
If you have missed any comments on your blog recently I am sorry I have not been too good with the fibromalgia and pain in my shoulder blade,  I hope to catch up soon.
Have a good day,
                                 Hugs

The Sunday CD Challenge A is for..........

Hi
What another beautiful day,   this week has been glorious and hot makes a wonderful change after all the rain we have had over the last few months.   I just wish it would last until Christmas.  I don't think it will as they say its going to get cooler next week,  that is British weather for you.
Today I bring you my challenge card for the Sunday CD Challenge  this week its A is for............,   Well my A is American Indians,   I used Joanne Sheens American Frontier CD,    I made an easel card from deep yellow card,   Placed a piece of gold miri board on the easel part of the card and then used the backing paper that went with the image but I cut into two pieces and used gold peel off's around the edges.   I then used the main image matted it on gold miri board,  punching out the corners so the image slotted in the corner.  I used some of the backing paper on the base of the card and a strip of yellow card raised one side and a piece of gold miri board put on top with gold Happy Birthday.
The dream catcher is one of my tatted dream catchers which is my own pattern and can be found on my pattern blog,  link is on my sidebar.   I placed a gold Indian head on the yellow card and cut around it and put it on top of the brad holding the dream catcher on.

I thought you might like to see the earrings I made on Marilee's course,  I have now finished then off by blocking them  and added the earring hooks.
I hope where ever you are the sun is shinning on you and you are enjoying the beautiful weather we are having here in the UK,   Tomorrow the Olympics start I hope the weather holds out over the next few weeks,  so everyone from overseas can enjoy the UK at its best.
Until we meet again take care

Hugs

Our 9th Wedding Anniversary

Hi,

Tomorrow is our 9th Wedding Anniversary (16th August), gosh it does not seen nine years, it was a beautiful day one of the very few days we had that August 2002, it rained and rained most of August, it really looked like it was going to be a wet wedding but on the day the sun came out and it was hot. I remember one thing from the wedding I made a speech not many Brides make a speech but I had on one to give me away and walked down the aisle on my own, anyway we had guests from different parts of the country and I started my speech with welcome to Somerset. I heard a little voice say something that was Sheila I know it was but I don't think at that time she realised that some guests had travelled to our wedding, my only disappointment was that my penfriend from the US had her leave cancelled and was unable to come. Lou is a lawyer in the US navy at the time of our wedding she was stationed at the Pentagon. Someone said I should have written the US President and complained, looking back I wish I had, may not have made any difference but might have made us feel better. I got though most of my speech and then the little voice spoke again the speech went out of my head totally, you see I made one mistake I never wrote it down I had it in my head, never again always write it down before hand.

Anyway my mojo has not been working very well recently, what with the trouble with the mole and the gall bladder operation, and now waiting for Fenchary Hospital. I seem to have a hit as a writer (well I have written three novels nothing printed) a blank page. A couple of weeks ago on the Sunday Cd challenge Dreams there was a card made by Carol, she made a card with a dream catcher design, do pop over and have a look at her lovely blog, her parchment work is beautiful. Well that gave me an idea we had the Indian pray at our wedding, and as we are both into country music this gave me an idea to get out the American Frontier Cd by Joanna Sheen.
The image is actually an insert and the backing paper both come from the CD. I matted the image onto blue paper and used the corner punch to hold the image. I then made a dream catcher in tatting with the beads on the ends, I
was going to make little tassels but I did not leave myself enough cotton, I used white and the blue Caribbean thread Lizbeth No 20. I did not have a pattern but made the centre based on the motif on the booties I am making at the moment, just change it a bit and then did I another round of just chains and picots for the hanging loops

I added the blue thread as I had blue on the card. What do you think?

I might think about trying to make a few more for my craft table I think it needs a little more work on them to get them completely right, I don't have any very small feathers at the moment but I think the beads do just as good a job.

Yesterday I post my butterfly only I forgot to tell you what thread I used it was the Turkish Altin Basak Thread.

I hope you like my wedding anniversary card today and until we meet again in blog land take care.

Hugs

Margaret
