The Sunday CD Challenge - Inspired by Peacocks

Hi,
What a day yesterday, with a 9 force gale and what comes naturally we had a thoroughly wet day here in Somerset, today has been slightly better only showers and the wind is not so bad and seems to be dieing down. It was not only an Autumn day but felt cold and its only the beginning of September. I had to go to the surgery for the dressing to be changed I got soaked, only a couple more days and the stitches will be out.

Today I bring you my card for the Sunday Cd Challenge
this week it is Inspired by Peacocks. My card is a peacock stamp by Creative Expressions, which Vernon brought me last year. I heat embossed the image with white, a touch of green and purple embossing powders. The backing paper came from Joanna Sheen's, The royal horticultural Society CD collection which I cut into strips and weaved together for a change, the flowers are from Joanna Sheen's shop and the parchment feathers in white and purple parchment paper white which I made myself. The pattern for them came from the Parchment Magazine last year. I used up scraps of ribbon in a various colours of a peacock.
A close up. Unfortunately the colours of the peacock don't seem to have come out in the photo. Gold peel offs to finish the card off.
I hope you like my creation today.
Well I know the weather is going to be changeable this week so I hope its not too bad where ever you live.
Until we meet again in blog land, take care
Hugs

A selection of cards

Hi,

Its time I put some cards on my blog, it seems ages since I posted some cards. This is another scheduled post so I hope they are coming out OK. These are a few new cards which I have made recently, This fan is a stitching peel off, stitched and beads added with a few beads thread at the base of the fan to made a handle

Close up. The beads are stitched on and fastened at the back with the thread.

This is another one again a stitching peel off, stitched and with beads added. The beads are stitched and fastened at the back with the thread

This card is made from the Royal Horticultural Society CD by Joanne Sheen, the image is backed with green miri board and the backing sheet comes with the image on the CD.

This is another card from the same CD, I have mounted it on embossed miri board in pink to match the orchid and added a pale pink ribbon finished off with gold peel offs

Just a simple card with a punch out strip of paper and an embellishment that I got free from Crafts Beautiful magazine a few months ago, I finished off this card with silver peel offs

This wedding card has a backing sheet of white roses, the image was a Charlies Ark with him holding two glasses, mounted on a silver miri board and finished off with white sheer ribbon and silver peel offs.

I hope you have enjoyed my last few scheduled posts and that you are keeping well, until we meet again in blog land take care.

Hugs

Better late than never, Fathers Day Card

Hi,

What a weekend, its been a busy one for us and the weather for once has been lovely, hot but already today we have had rain and forecasted thunderstorms have not yet arrived.

With Glastonbury finishing today and everyone heading home, the roads are now busy, It was another mud bath and it rained and rained, but yesterday the sun came out and then they fried in the hot sun. The site is as big as the city of Bath with 170,000 people all living in tents or for the very rich posh accommodation yes posh tents, or you could even have a wigwam, not me sorry I want to bit more than a tent. There will not be one next year as Mr Eavis wants to let the land rest, what a lot of visitors don't realise it is a working farm and until a few weeks before they arrive the fields have four legged residents of cows.

Everything seems to be going wrong at the moment we had a quite day in Cheese and Grain on Saturday, Vernon again did my craft table I am only allowed to sit and do technical!
When I sent Vernon's Dad his card I forgot to take a picture of it, we went up to see him yesterday and here's the pictures of his card. The image is a shaped card from the Joanne Sheen CD The Royal Horticultural Society Collection CD, its a lovely CD and has some beautiful images of flowers and shaped cards. I put a few garden tools in inside, along with curtains and some acetate for a window. I did add a key hang up for the shed to be locked up. There was not much room to add too much, but he liked his card and said it was unusual. Its difficult to find different things every time. I also used this card for Vernon's best friend whose birthday was at the beginning of June.

I have now got my date for my op, and I had my pre-op assessment last Friday, I will let you know nearer the time when it is. The mole scar had its stitches out last Thursday but has now opened up and now they are having to treat it with a seaweed type of dressing, I hope it is healed by the time we go on holiday this weekend and will be OK when I come back and have my op. I have treated myself to a new dressing gown and slippers so I am sort of ready. We have are doubts are the moment but I will let you know more as the week goes on. Life just getting a bit much at the moment.

Well that's it for today, I hope you are keeping well and until we meet again take care

Hugs

Margaret
