Knitted Runners

 Hi,
Many years ago I knitted these two runners,  when I was planning on what to put on my  blog while I was away,  my hubby was doing the ironing and these were in the pile,   so here they are for you to look at.  They are both my design,  knitted in white cotton.  This runner is 24 inches long and 12 inches wide.

This runner is also knitted in white cotton,  many years ago and was done as a sample pattern runner,  This is my own pattern and measures 30 inches long and 11 and half inches wide.   The edge is different I picked up all the way around and knitted the edge after so many rows I did a row of knit two together and knit one and then knitted the same number of rows and sewed down the edge.  This gave the runner a stronger edge.

Hugs
Margaret

  9. Very pretty stitching! I'm also impressed that they're still white after all these years...

  10. Very pretty! I find it hard to crochet with string - it doesn't have any stretch. Obviously, it doesn't give you any problems.

  11. Is there no end to your talents Margaret? These runners are beautiful, so delicate and the stitches are amazing! The white cotton will last forever so they will be a lovely family heirloom.
