Taj Mahal Ice Drop

Hi,

Do you remember the Taj Mahal key I designed with Carollyn,   well I know that Muskean said it would look nice as an ice drop,  well here it is as an ice drop in a similar pattern,  I had to adjust the pattern slightly to go around the ice drop gem,  I added a spiral chain to hang it up by,  and like the key it has a spiral chain ribbon hanging from the bottom.   I am not sure if I want to put two ribbons hanging or one but for now,.  At the moment it has one spiral chain which I made as one long chain and attached half way.
I am in process of writing up the pattern and testing it,  I am delighted how it turned out,  I used Lizbeth thread no 20 in red with a red gem in the middle.

June Tatting

Hi,
I really should call this holiday tatting but not all of it was tatted while I was on holiday.  Above is a bookmark which I started on holiday,  the pattern was on facebook as a bracelet but I did not want to play with beads on holiday so I changed into a bookmark,   The pattern is by Augusta Greco she called it with all my heart  which looks like its originally by Gloria Nelson,  at least thats what I think it says as its in another language.  To me it looks like butterfly hearts at the top I added a chain and two rings which make it look like a butterfly  and finished the bookmark off with a tassel.
The tatted heart is called Tatted heart and was adapted by Barbara Foster from a design by Mrs. J.M. Blackman appearing in Modern Priscilla magazine 1917.   I just had a littler thread left on the shuttle and made a butterfly.
I used Lizbeth thread called Tropical Punch no 20

These are Ice drops the which one was sent to me by Linda Williams along with the red thread and beads to make another one.
Well I think I did a fairly good job of it,  my hand was not quite repaired and I had only just started tatting again.   I am going to do this pattern again as it,  as they look beautiful hanging up.  The Ice drop is called Birthday Ice drop.  Thank you Linda for the thread and beads.

This is Tiara Ice Drop by Wally Sosa which I made using Lizbeth thread Purple Marble no 20.

Well thats the tatting for now,
Margaret

Time for another challenge and this fortnight it is Jocelyn's turn to Host, again it is anything goes using something from a CD.
For my card I used a backing paper from Gnomes and Faries too CD, by La Pashe.   The image was from Hunkydory's members free gift pack Ladybirds,  the ladybirds are from stash and I cant remember where I got them from,  I finished off the card with a bow of red ribbon.

CD sunday Challenge # 12 Anything goes using something from a craft CD

Hi,
Time for another challenge at CD Sunday Challenge blog,  this fortnight I am hosting this challenge,  We are doing Anything goes #12 using something from a CD.  This is a scheduled post as I am away sunning myself in Greece.
For my card this time I am used House Mouse Triple CD by Joanna Sheen disc one.  As I am on holiday in Greece I used this inspiration for this card. So my image is the house mice flying a kite,   I used the backing paper that went with the image and then used a kite off the paper and some ribbon making an embellishment of a kite.   The sentiment came with the image.

CD Sunday challenge now has a Facebook page for those who would like to enter the challenge and do not have a blog,   here is a link to the page

I hope you will visit the CD Sunday Challenge site, and remember if you want to enter the challenge you must use something from a CD no matter how small and let us know which CD you used.  Here is a link to CD Sunday Challenge blog  we would be pleased to see you.

Competition card

Hi,

The competition has closed so now I can show you the card I made for the Birthday competition at Debbi Moore,
For this card I used the Summer Moment CD by Debbi Moore for the image and the beautiful scerny at the back of her.  I added a gem on her tie on the dress,  a spray of Ivy from the Joanna Sheen ivy die,  some ribbon and flowers to tie in with the colours of the card,   with some glitter glue on the topiary trees and ivy with a spot on her eyes.
I'm pleased with this card

Margaret

Update this card was a runner up in the competition.  Thank you for your lovely comments

Test attting for Wally

Hi,

Wally Saso has a new book out called A Party of Tatting Designs.  I have been doing some test tatting for you,  there are some lovely motif patterns.
Here is the link to buy the book either digitally or as a book.

These are the motifs I did for Wally with shuttle tatting.

Motif 2012,  I used Lizbeth thread Rainbow Taffy no 20

Motif 2007. I used Lizbeth thread Juicy Watermelon no 20. This motif is one that if you want to practice josephine rings and split rings,  this will certainly give you a lot of practice.

Motif 2016. I used Lizbeth Thread Juicy Watermelon no 20

Motif 2003 I used Lizbeth thread Rainbow Taffy no 20,   The third round is tricky and not a beginners  motif,  with the three little rings at the end of a split chain.

Bonbon without the wrapper. I used Lizbeth thread Christmas thread no 20

This is an interesting book of different motifs,  that can be tatted either by shuttle or needle.
I did enjoy test tatting for Wally,  unfortunately these were done before I injured my hand and its the first opportunity to post them,  Thank you Wally for giving me the test tatting.
