Splitting Mesh Tatting

Hi,

Recently  on Facebook there has been a discussion about fillet crochet and how it can be turned into tatting,  This resulted in several comments and then someone remember a pattern from Mary Konior called Network from the book Tatting with Visual patterns,

Well I had tatted this pattern over 30 years ago when the book was first published,  I found my piece and its the picture above tatted in coats thread no 20,  back then I could only get Coats thread or DMC from the local wool shop.

If you want to read more about the recent tatting idea on this type of tatting here is a link to Mushaan who placed a post on her blog

Hope you find it interesting

Margaret

  1. I did read muskaan's post, and I have the Mary Konior pattern. I do enjoy filet crochet, but I was not particularly drawn to the tatted version. Still, I may look at the pattern again!

  4. Thanks, again, for sharing the pic, Margaret :-)) Of all the techniques, this one looks to be the easiest - simple rings and chains.
