Lock down crochet Blanket

Hi,

Crochet is not really my thing,  but after winning a prize from   I thought it was time I renewed my hook with some wool and relearned crochet.    Well after finding this lovely pattern on YouTube and having a refresher lesson from my granddaughter,  I started with a granny square only the granny square grew into more than one in fact ended up as 50 +,  I used up some of my stash of wool as Vernon says I have enough to stock a wool shop,  not quite,   I made this blanket after putting them together and then working an edging with bits of the left over wool from the squares,  this is the result.
The pattern is called  Tricolour square by  Bella Coco,  the original pattern was done with three colours but I liked it with two and stuck with it,    it measures 35 and half inches or 90 cms wide,  by  51 and half inches or 131 cms long.
I was brave enough this week to go into a shop and buy some cream cotton material to back the blanket.

Yes I am happy with it,  so my hook will be renewing itself with some wool,  a little more practice before tackling the  bag pattern, I won from Joëlle.
