International Tatting Day

Hi,
Today is International Tatting Day,   its an important day for us tatters as we usually get to go out and tat in public,   not sure I will be able to but you never know I might find somewhere to tat when I go shopping.
For over 25 years tatters all over the world have been celebrating International Tatting Day.   As the news letter from BellaOnline.com said she wish she could say what tatters were tatting 200 years ago but we can't. Possibly hanky edgings and doily's just the same as today, well similar in fact some of the patterns still exist and are still being tatted and brought up to date.  But one things for sure they wont have been tatting the Ice Drops.
The yellow Ice Drop is Diane's pattern Purple Fudge Ice Drop,  I used some yellow coats variegated no 20 thread,  its quite old and I have no idea when I brought it but with the white and a gold glass gem in the middle,  I did a different hanging chain for this one,  with 5 flipped and 5 unflipped stitches,  I think I should have followed the pattern better and did a lock chain on the the small rings at the top of the chains, never mind I am pleased with it and it looks real spring like.

This is Diane's pattern called Root Beer Fudge Ice Drop,  for this one I used Grape Pizzaz in no 20,  the beads are pale pink they only just show up in the picture and the center is a plain white glass gem,  the hanging chain I did a spiral stitches.

Here is a link to Diane's blog for the patterns

Have a good day and Happy tatting

Snowflake Countdown to Christmas Challenge - Day 18

 Hi,
Day 18

Today's snowflake is a Snow Crystal deigned by Diane from Lace-lovin Librarian.  the first one is with a doodad,  I think it was too big but this was the only one I had which came from a pair of earring I brought to strip off and use for tatting.   So I thought about it and made a ring of 12p separated by 2ds  with a gold bead in the centre,   and then a split ring into the next round.  I put gold seed beads on the picots in the chain,  only I they show up very well.   Hope Diane likes my Snow Crystal.
Hugs
Margaret

Snowflake Countdown to Christmas Challenge

 Hi
It worked today,  so here is the snowflake I was bring you yesterday,  On the 1st December Alison started doing a snowflake per day until Christmas.   Well I had planned to do this and then as she had started it I decided not to go ahead with my plans as it might look as copying,   then Diane stated and Alison challenged us blogger's to do a snowflake every day up to Christmas    well I hope I can bring you one every day, you might even get an angel. Link to Alison blog is here  and link to Diane's blog is here
Day one is Flocon d'Or by Joelle Paulson link to here blog  here.here   This is a beautiful snowflake and I am going to use it on my  Christmas cards,  for those who are going to get one you did not read that OK.
Day Two this is today's snowflake its called Wheel of Nine Rings from the book called Christmas Angels and other Tatting Patterns by Monica Hahn.
Both snowflakes are tatting in Lizbeth thread no 20
More rain forecasted for Somerset,  the village on a small hill in the levels of Somerset that has been cut off since the flooding is still cut off and they are pumping ten tones of water per minute off the levels and into the River Tone.  Please who ever did the rain dance could you now do a sun dance the ground can't take any more water,  its just so wet its mud.
Hope you stay dry
Until we meet again Take care

My tatted Fluffy Angel 23/25

Hi,
I want to introduce you to my Fluffy Angel,  a couple of weeks ago I showed you a fluffy snowflake,  well the brain cells went into overdrive  and I googled to see if there was a fluffy angel,  no could not find one.  With the brain cells working this is what they came up with.  This has been tested tatted by three lovely ladies  Wendy from umintsuru  link to her blog,   Fox from Tat-ology link to her blog  and Diane from Lace-lovin Librarian link to her blog.   They have been three of the best test tatters I could have have, to have a pattern tested worldwide is amazing and with the technology we have today this has been easy to do, so now  with there help the pattern is ready.

I used Oren Bayan Koton Perle no 8 but any thread that will fluffy can be used,   she takes 7 and three quarters of thread approximately and is 2 and half inches long with a wingspan of 4 inches approximately,
This is the fluffy Angel with beads,   I only put one bead per picot but Fox used three on each picot which look totally beautiful.
So for the first five tatters who would like a copy of the pattern please leave your name on this blog and I will send you a copy,   but I am afraid after that the pattern is now on my esty store,  which I am adding today, there is a link in the sidebar to my esty store.
They have all said she is gorgeous so I hope you will agree,  this is the moment of unveiling and the time I sit and hope she will be liked.
I have really enjoyed designing her and I have some more ideas running around the brain cells for fluffys.
News on the scan,  I had it yesterday but I have no results as yet,  just hoping they find something.
I hope you have a lovely weekend and stay dry.
                         Hugs
                      Margaret
PS Sorry all five free patterns have now gone.
