Tatted Handkerchief and Earrings

 Hi,

It’s a beautiful morning here in Somerset,  I know I have not been blogging much for a few weeks,  but the CD Sunday challenge does not start until next month, (4th February).

This is my go to project that I take with me,  I have tatted this in the hospital waiting for Vernon when he has appointments or in The Hive when I wait for him to have this hair cut,  could even have been lots of places,  but they were always seem to be in public,   Yes I do sometimes get asked is it crochet,  no tatting, so their people learn about tatting etc.,  see I spend the word tatting around.

I used the Turkish thread, Altin Basek thread no 50 which is equal to Lizbeth no 20,  pattern  is called Fleurette edging which has been re-written by Joelle link to her Blog

These earrings I made for a dear friend before Christmas,  they are in the same thread,  and I used my own pattern Butterfly heart,

Hope you have a lovely weekend

Snowflake Christmas cards

 Hi

I know this a very late post,  I know they have all arrived,  I am just starting to catch up with everything,  the flu has not quite gone,  at least I am still here, it was a very nasty bug that knocked me off my feet.

These Christmas card were sent to my friends who are all crafters,  I hope they liked there cards,  the picture above is two cards that did not have a tatted snowflake,  I used a die cut of a snowflake as the cards were to small.  The rest all had tatted snowflakes or an Angel attached  and to keep  for next year and for years to come.

The backing  papers were all from stash,  I can’t remember where I brought them,  I cut out a shape out of the card,  placed the snowflake so it hangs in the centre on a thread attached and then placed a piece of backing paper on the back,   I made a bow and placed it at the top of the card.

I am sorry these photos have come out a bit dark,  some of the days we had before Christmas were very dark all day,  now after all the rain we have had,  it’s very very cold frosty and still with cloud,  longing for some warm dry days with some sun,

I hope you had a lovely new year,  I have several posts to catch up on before we resume at the CD Sunday challenges

Happy Christmas Vernon

 Hi,

This is my last Christmas card of 2023,  it’s been a struggle this Christmas with both of us with flu,

I made this card for Vernon it’s a craftsuprint  free image card,  which I decoupaged the gnome,   strays of holly added in some ribbon and on the end of the hat added a small lump of cotton wool for the white bubble.

I wish all my family and friends a very happy Christmas and a happy new year

Tatted Hearts and Angels.

 Hi,

It’s a windy and again dark day here in Somerset,  we expect yet more rain again later,  the weather over the last week has been so dark we need the light on just do anything,  rain it just keeps on raining,  the Somerset levels are flooded yet again,  I live in the Mendip  hills and the water drains into the levels,  with many roads flooded and land slips in the south west.  Roll on summer.

Today I am bring you some tatting that I have done over the last couple of months  and not posted,  first the picture above is the Peacock Hearts,  which I left some thread on so they could be hung, ii did save sewing in the ends,  this heart pattern is from Birgit’s  tatting it’s an old blog but here is a link to her Blog

I made them with Lizbeth thread no 20

I really enjoyed making these angels,  the pattern is from My Magic Tatting,  and they called Merry Christmas Angels,  I used white Lizbeth thread no 20.  There are a few people that will be receiving one of these in their Christmas card this year.

CD Sunday Challenge - anything goes #125

 Hi

This is the last challenge for this year at the CD Sunday challenge blog,  this fortnight Carol is the host,

We are also proud to announce that we have two new members joining us next year,  Meg from Bits and pieces is returning and  Aimeslee from Paper Paisleys,  our first challenge will be on the 4th February 2024,   We are having a longer break than normal,  due to Jo and I both having been ill, over the last couple of months.

For my last card this year,  I used for the backing paper and images Magical Christmas Moments by Cupcake Crafting the images I matted onto blue Miri card.  I placed a selection of foliage dies cuts,  the dies used are Winter wonderland seasonal sprigs from Crafters  Companion , ivy leaves from Joanna Sheen,  leaves from Debbi Moore with blue ribbon placed in between the leaves and a blue bow in front.  I used some silver stickers on the leaves,  finished off with peel offs words.

CD Sunday Plus challenge has a Facebook page for those who would like to enter the challenge and do not have a blog,   here is a link to the page

I hope you will visit the CD Sunday Plus Challenge site, and remember if you want to enter the challenge you must use something from a CD, USB or digital material no matter how small and let us know where and what you used the material from,   and that it is a card or a project.    Here is a link to CD Sunday Plus Challenge blog  we would be pleased to see you.

Have a lovely weekend

Endrucks projects October and November

 Hi,

I am a bit a late posting on the Endrucks project work I have done over the last two months.  Firstly as some of you know I hit my head,  I’m getting over concussion hopefully it’s going but I am still suffering with giddy spells,  which it not good,  I stopped driving for a few weeks as the pain from the hit was really painful made worse when our roads are so tough with potholes,  although Vernon tries hard not to hit the really deep ones.   I still feel where I hit occasionally,  but I feel I am on the mend.  I never thought concussion could last so long.

Secondary I had trouble with  blogger,  I had a scammer that got into my laptop pretending to get my money back,  no he was trying to get my money,   it was a few days after I hit my head and I was not thinking straight,  lesson learned think twice and twice again,  I think he messed about with blogger because he could not find any mobile banking,  I don’t do mobile banking I don’t trust it.  The bank and PayPal were brilliant,  they spotted the scam,  and he got nothing,   perhaps because I had been in the bank that morning so they knew I was not away.

Anyway if you did not get a comment on your blog now you know why,  hopefully it’s back to normal and all sorted.

Now for the reason I am posting today,  the picture above is the October game for the Endrucks project,  using the Iris pendant by Ninetta Caruso,  it’s a diamond motif used as a pendant,  we had to make two,  well you know me I made a set so there was three,  the pendant is as the pattern  but I added three strings,  two to the sides and one in the middle,   Taking a long piece of thread off the shuttle,  threading three beads onto the thread making sure they are in the middle then tatting a long string,  making sure the side pieces were the same length,  and the same with the middle string with matching beads and tatting a long length.   The earrings match the pendant this time I placed the beads at the bottom ring and made a ring at the top to hold the fastenings.  I used peacock blue Lizbeth thread no 20.

This is the November game which Muskaan did from an adaptation of the pattern called Antiks snowflake, I was very slow on this snowflake but I did finish in time,  this pattern was a little advanced with split chains,   Something I am a little rusty on,  but I got there in the end.  I used Lizbeth thread in white no 20.

I hope you have lovely weekend,  it’s very cold here,  frosty and we may get snow later,

Margaret
