Snowflake Countdown to Christmas - Day 16

Hi,
Day 16

 Today's snowflake is from Easy Tatting Book page 18 called Five-inch Snowflake,  I am not that keen on this one its too open and long chains,  it needs something but what I don't know.  As with all the snowflakes I have tatted it in Lizbeth no 20,   I don't think even a smaller thread would make it better it just too open for me.   What do you think?

    I like the open spaces myself; as a general rule, I think they make for more attractive tatting designs. However, this particular flake would be more stable if the points were joined to each other. It's a very pretty design, it just needs a little tweaking. Just my opinion, of course!
