Hi,
Another beautiful day here in Somerset, hot and very heavy, with Glastonbury approaching and rain forecasted for the end of the week, my garden is looking a bit dry so a few showers of rain will be appreciated as long as the summer comes back.
England play tomorrow night, so its Here we go, here we go .....Home, I am not a football fan so I wont say any more, This girl is an F1 fan though and though.
Yesterday I went to the Parchment Show in Bristol, I had a lovely day and meet Carol from the CD Sunday Challenge, it was great to see Carol again, we had a long chat, thanks Carol for making the day even better.
The pictures are from my mobile phone yes yet again I forgot my camera but I think you will agree these pictures look good for a mobile phone.
The two pictures above were totally wonderful made from parchment and paper, if you want to see more the web site is www.skills4you.org.uk
I wont go though all the pictures but thank you those who allowed me to take them.

This lovely picture of the badger, I was given instruction on how to do him and told yes you can do it, even as a beginner you can do it.... well I brought the pattern, so watch this space.
I hope you enjoyed my tour of the show, I took 45 pictures and these are just some of them, the next show is on 21st June 2015 in Bristol, so if you are around try and visit it if you can, I think you will enjoy it.
Until we meet again Take care

Oh these are great pictures, and love so many of them they rapprochement paper items are wonderful and the tatting looked great with beads and the fans and doll dresses! Did they get awards for these Items or ribbons cause they are all so nice, really wish I was there on this one too!
ReplyDeleteAll the pictures are made from parchment paper, the designs that look like tatting design are in fact cut out of paper, I wish I could show you how they cut them out but I am not that clever. I am still at the beginner stage.

Oh wow I need to get my eyes checked huh! I have a book on something called scherenschnitte, I wonder if that is what it is like! some of those really look like tatting.
DeleteThe tatting stands out in this show, Margaret. Thank you for these interesting pictures.

Just so beautiful. You must have enjoyed it. What a feast for the eyes.
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of speechless! I love the internet for giving us an opportunity to become aware of artistic talent like this from around the world that we would never know about otherwise. Of course, someone has to go to the trouble of posting, and you always take the time to share so many interesting things! I love all of it, especially the koala, the swans, ferris wheel, and all the Victorian items, and I DID think that was tatting! It must have been so fascinating to see everything in person. I don't know of any exhibits like this in our area! So glad you met your friend again, too. Also glad you're getting some sunshine!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat show, Margaret! I've not seen anything like that here. I know paper art was very popular in earlier times, and it's nice to see what's happening with it now. Thanks so much for sharing.
