Renulek's Summer Doily and Ninetta's cross 8/25 Motif Challenge

 Hi,
At last I have finished Renuleks Summer Doily,   I used Lizbeth thread no 20 in Red Burst (which I won from Rachel from Intatters last year) and White.  
I find the chains on the outside do bend a bit,  I took so many pictures to try and get the pattern to show up that all my work on pressing it seems to gone by the wind as it looks creased.  at least this is one project finished.  As they say onto the next,  but I have decided what it will be as I have another couple of things to finish first.

This is a pattern I really like which is from Ninetta link to her blog,  I made the two with Lizbeth thread no 20 one in white and one in Purple thread (the purple thread was another ball I won from Rachel) and then tried the same pattern with the beads, again I used the white thread with gold beads,   it came out a but wobbly.   I think its a pattern that needs a bit of practice to prefect.  I did enjoy this pattern and will be doing more.

Holiday Tatting. 5/25 motif challenge

 Hi,

Another beautiful day, pity yesterday was so horrible,  I suppose we did need the rain well the garden did.   Today I have the holiday tatting I did on Kos,   although their is a bit more than this but my hand has stropped me doing so much.
The above picture shows some snowflakes,  as you might have read in a previous post the Greek lady thought they should be bigger and done in thicker thread.  OK I have tatted these in No 20 Lizbeth thread.  They are Wheel of nine rings from Christmas Angels and other tatting patterns by Monica Hahn,  Snowflake Ornament from Easy tatting,  Diane s Snowflake (which you will see again in another post)  Anna magazine December 1991 no 32,  and Katie Johnson's 3 dimensional angel which I made slightly bigger by adding an extra double stitch on the chains and rings.  still not sure I like it a bit bigger.

I used one of the balls of Lizbeth no 20 I won from Rachel last year called Carousel,  this is the first time I have used this thread.  I did a spiral chain and using the corner pattern made a square end.

Update here is how far I have got with Renuleks mat,  I did the last row in red by the pool and started the white just before we came home,   In 30 degrees heat plus it was a bit hot to tat too long.   I did talk about this in my last tatting post.

Antique Brooch and Renulek's Summer Mat 25/25 Motif Challenge

Hi,

After a few beautiful days this week here we had rain last night for the first time what must be over week,   its still heavy but at least the garden has had some rain.

I found this brooch in the market in Frome when I had my bad hand back in January and its been sitting in front of me waiting for some enhancements,   well I finally decided on what colour to use and here it is,  its not easy to photograph as the stones around the outside and middle shine all different colours   I use Lizbeth thread no 20 Purple Splendor,  this is the first brooch I have enhanced so it was a bit of a learning curve,  but I am pleased with it, hope you like it too.  This completes the 25 motif challenge no two.    I hope to start another one if Sharon will still let me.

This is Renulek's summer mat I have completed the seventh round and now just started the eighth,  I have another two rounds to go.
Then I might start her collar,   see how things go.

My card for the CD Sunday Challenge a couple of weeks ago made a third,  I was so pleased and delighted to find out this morning.

Renulek's Summer Doily

Hi,

What a windy weekend,  its been really high winds here in Somerset,  and plenty of heavy showers.  Hope the weather is better with you than it is here.
Today I thought you might like to see what I am tatting at the moment,   this is Renulek's Summer doily I am using Lizbeth thread no 20 Red Burst which was one of the threads I won from Rachel on intatters last year.   The picture is showing the first three rounds,  I am a little way behind as she has already posted round seven.  Link to her blog
I was asked about my hand on the last post,  yes it has healed it still gives me a little pain and I can now wear my rings,   I can tat but only for a short time but its well on the mend now thank you for asking.
