Roses are red knitted cup cakes

Hi,
I made these knitted cup cakes a couple of weeks ago,  they are looking a little drunk they do sit up straight but decided buy the time I had them on the window sill and taking the picture they would fall about.  I made the red roses from ribbon and sewed them on top.  On the left side there is a close up of the ribbon roses.
Hope you have a lovely weekend
   Hugs

Knitted Forget-me-not Cup Cakes

Hi,

At last a lovely day, a little chilly and we still have the wind, the sky is blue with the sun is shining.

Although I had a mixed weekend with feeling not too bad, and a little pain, yesterday and today I have more pain and not feeling too good. We did manage to go out on Saturday night and had a lovely meal out something we have not done very much this year. It was lovely to be out with no cooking and washing up for a change.

These cup cakes I am calling forget-me-not, I do love forget-me-nots with the delicate blue flowers, at the moment I don't have any in the garden but as soon as I feel better and back to gardening I want to get some plants. Gary and Melissa came over on Friday night with Bethany our grand daughter she loved my cup cakes so I gave her one. I was trying out a different pattern with a basket pattern for the base but I did not like it so I gave her my try out. She loves it and thinks they make great pin cushions. I think I shall have to sell them as pin cushions now!!

This is a close up, each flower has four petals made in tatting with Lizbeth thread no 20 Turquoise Twist. I sewed beads seperate in the centres and dotted around the top of the cup cake.

I hope you are keeping well and the ash cloud does not affect you yet. We fly to Italy in July so hopefully it will have clear out of the way by then.

Until we meet again Take care,

Hugs

Royal Wedding Knitted Cup Cakes

Hi,

I hope the weekend as been lovely for you and the weather has kept being as gorgeous as it was last week. I cant believe our luck that April has been so wonderful and so hot no not warm but hot at 23 degrees, it just got hotter as last week went on. To think that this country has been hotter than many parts of Europe. I just hope this is not all the summer we are going to have and we are not writing posts later on in the year saying how cold and wet it is. We have a holiday booked to go to Italy in July, well we are crossing our fingers that I will be well enough to go.
As the Royal Wedding is only a few days away, I thought of making something different and what could be better than knitted cup cakes. These cup cakes have one thing going for them no calories trouble is you cant eat them.

The flower on the top is done in two layers, the white and red petals I did in one piece and then made the blue knitted button on the top separate and then sewed it on.

I took the photos on my new dinning room table, although we brought this are a different shop it matches my new unit and display cabinet perfectly. I am so pleased with my display unit and my Lilliput cottages look so lovely in it, I have collected them for at least twenty years and its the first time they have somewhere just for them to be displayed.

I hope you are having a great Easter, this is a scheduled post so hope this finds you all well and until you pass this way again take care.

Hugs

Margaret
