Hi,
Day Six

Today its called Fancy Snowflake from Easy Tatting book, tatted in Lizbeth no 20,  unfortunately I dont like this one its too open in the middle and without stiffening it tenad to flop.

    1. Apart from nearly being blown off my feet when I was out shopping, no damage so at least we got through the storm ok. Hope you did too.

  2. I'm finally here Margaret, so sorry...again...
I love this you clever woman, it's just so pretty, I understand the 'floppy' problem, but it looks gorgeous.xx

  3. I made that one last year, and it did require a double dose of stiffer. It is very cute though, and I think I felt the same way, I wonder if done in size 80 would make it any better :)

    1. I don't think any size of thread would make it any better. I thought I might try making a center for it, won't be this year.

  4. It does look too open in the middle, what a shame. I remember one Anna Burda had needle lace in the middle of tatted motifs, perhaps you could run threads across the middle with a needle?

  6. I would suggest stiffening it with the white glue, then hang a charm in the middle, like a crystal snowflake or a metallic doodad, or an angel charm, or even a small tatte motif. I often make snowflakes and suncatchers like that.

  8. I do hate it when the most lovely designs are too open to hold themselves together! This one is beautiful to the eye even though it does flop.

  9. I agree that the center is too open, but it is still very pretty! Maybe it could be used as a drape over a ball. It would also look nice stitched onto a blouse.
