Back to Basics and beyond challenge - Fold back card

Hi,
This fortnight Back to Basics and Beyond challenge have a new challenge for you this time its folded back card.
I made this card for a special friend whose 75th birthday is on the 1st June,  and they don't look at my blog so I am safe to put this card on early.  I just hope he likes it.
I used a Kanban image of a bird  which I matted onto a Kanban embossed card,  I folded back the front of the card and covered the card with a plain blue paper and added a strip of pattern blue paper down the sides,  and finished off the card with corner peel offs and peel offs words.
We would be pleased to see you at Back to Basics challenge blog and here is a link

CD Sunday Challenge - Beautiful Blooms

Hi,
Time for another challenge and this time its Jocelyn's turn to choose,  which she has chosen the theme of Beautiful Blooms,  there is plenty of scope with this theme for this challenge.
For the my card I used One Summers day CD by Joanna Sheen for the image and backing paper.  I matted the image onto blue card and then onto white embossed card,  I 3d the vase of flowers and added some gold gems in the center of the flowers.  I made the parchment pansy flowers from the Garden Creations 3D Flower CD by Maria Maidment.   I added a black gem in the middle of the pansies.  I added a green leaf die flourish and a blue ribbon bow with trailing ends.

CD Sunday challenge now has a Facebook page for those who would like to enter the challenge and do not have a blog,   here is a link to the page

I hope you will visit the CD Sunday Challenge site, and remember if you want to enter the challenge you must use something from a CD no matter how small and let us know which CD you used.  Here is a link to CD Sunday Challenge blog  we would be pleased to see you.

Mr Postman brings presents

Hi,
Today is a beautiful day,  the sun is shinning the sky is blue, no cloud and its warmer.   It feels like a summers day here in Somerset.
This was send from Carollyn link to her blog,   She sent a lavender soap,  a lovely notepad,  some tea and this beautiful beaded credit card holder,  see picture at the side.   My picture does not do it justice it is totally beautiful with tatting edging.  I know this is a late post but thank you Carollyn,  I need a new notepad for my handbag you must have been reading my mind.  It is a gorgeous present.

Carollyn is making some bunny shuttles,  in wood and they are gorgeous,  this is one from her,  I am going to look forward to using them and they are so tactile.  She is making and selling them at the moment,  I have put a link to her blog above.

I am behind with commenting so I will catch up hopefully in the next couple of days.   If you did get a strange email from me my Dropbox was hacked.   So far Dropbox have not replied to two emails the third will be very to the point.

Hope you are having a lovely weekend

Hi,
I hope you are keeping well and hopefully the sun is shinning.  Today I have joined the new blog challenge team as a DT,  so this is my first post as a DT for the Back to Basics and Beyond Challenge blog.   I hope you will come and join in this challenge.  This fortnight its One sheet wonder cards.  I have put the diagram at the top of the post,  It is basically make as many cards as you like from a 12 x 12 sheet of paper.   There is a minimum of two cards but the choice as to how many you make is up to you,  you could use the whole sheet.
This is my cards I made six in all,  I used a sheet of bronze damask rose paper which I brought some time ago from Create and Craft.

No 1  I enclosed the card with a cutterbug embossing folder used a square piece of the bronze paper and put peel offs around the square and a die cut butterfly

No 2  using a triangle of the bronze paper at the top of the card, floral ribbon from stash,  a bronze ribbon bow and bronze peel off happy birthday.

No 3  I used a square piece of the bronze paper,  a die cut spray and two tatted butterflies and a piece of bronze ribbon down the size

No 4  Using the other bronze triangle place the other way,  a bronze peel off down the side and bronze happy birthday peel off and a copper vase and red rose embellishment from stash

No 5  with three squares of bronze paper,  I placed three embellishments from stash a bow made from the bronze ribbon and a happy birthday bronze peel off and some hearts from the same sheet peel off

No 6 Using three strips of bronze paper I cut a rose die which I brought from Amazon in white card and the Best wishes die also cut from white card, was free this month from Tattered lace magazine.

I hope you will join in and enjoy this challenge,   we are a new blog so do pop over and visit us.
Have a  nice day,

Polish Doily from Craftree - Finished

Hi,

Its a beautiful weekend in the UK,  the sun is shining and its quite hot,  plus its a bank holiday.

At last I have finished this doily which Fox very kindly (not) said after she gave up that I could do it,  well yes I have done it,  it needs another blocking those chains, really do need it,  if I ever do it again I would split those long chains and join them.  Am I pleased with it well to be honest it looks better than I thought and am pleased to have finished it.
I used Lizbeth thread in white and Purple and Cordonnet pink thread all in no 20.
My message to Fox how about starting it again,  you can do it.
Have a lovely weekend
