Christmas tatting

 Hi,

This Christmas all my tatting has been on the dark side,  I was asked for two purple ice drops as above,  she decided on two different threads both Lizbeth no 20 in Purple twist and Iris Fusion.

Then she asked for two ring donuts again in purple,  but larger for this one I used Purple Splendor,  thus is my own pattern and came out at just over 3 inches .

The second one well it curled up,  I can only think that because I was rushing it i tatted it too tight,  after cutting off two rounds I changed the last round a bit and yes it laid flat  for this one I used Iris Fusion.

Having finished with purple (not my favourite colour) I went on to red for my sister in law,  she likes either all white or all red,  this is the third day of December from the book 24 snowflakes by Lene Bjorn.  Christmas red thread by Lizbeth no 20.  Yes I made a mistake there are seven arms not six but I like it and it’s just a little bigger,  as she has a big real tree at Christmas it will look fine.

Now I am going to tat some white snowflakes,  before stating a large tatting project.

Hope you are having a lovely Christmas and stay safe and well

Art Deco Christmas

 Hi,

I have not posted for a couple of weeks,  partly because I had very little to post and time keeps running out on me.

Today I have the last few cards to show you,  the one above is a card I made for my sister in law,  from the CD Art Deco elegance Debbi Moore.  This CD is full of gorgeous images,  at first my husband did not think it was very Christmassy,   But by the time I had finished ,  he liked it, perhaps because she had a green dress?

This is the card I made for my husband,  I used the latest Debbi Moore magazine,   I liked this image so much I cut it out of the magazine free papers to make this card,  it’s not something I do cutting out of the free papers,  I hope to buy the CD that has this image on.  He was pleased and liked the card.

My last card was a download from the latest Debbi Moore magazine for our great  niece she will be three months just after Christmas.

I hope she likes it,  in years to come.

Tatted butterfly heart earrings

 Hi

A little while ago yes well when I found the post it was May 2020 how time has flown,  we did what could  call poker cards,  we were given a set of cards with either a number of rings or number of chains and work a design using the required elements.

Well I came up with the poker butterfly heart design, the original  post was 20th May 2020,  here is a link to the Post.    I had some thread left on my shuttles and I made these two pairs of earrings.  The butterfly in the middle stands out in a 3D effect,  I don’t think these shades of thread show it up every well,  I did josh ine rings around the outside but they could be made with beads,  perhaps next time I made some I will use beads

I used Lizbeth thread no 20 in summer fun and spring garden.

Hope you are having a lovely weekend,  stay safe from this new variant of Covid

 Hi,

Hope you are keeping well,  time for another challenge at the CD Sunday challenge blog,  as usual it is Anything goes as long as the rules are meet.  The host this fortnight is Jocelyn.

Playing with Dies

 Hi,

A very grey day here in Somerset,  would be nice to have some sunshine , although it’s mild for the time of year,  I do hate the thought of winter, roll on spring.

I have not been able to do much this last fortnight,  make that three weeks,  packing up the kitchen,  then the workmen first striping the whole kitchen out. So we had no electricity or water in the kitchen area,  for ten days.  My kitchen was my dinning room table.  Well it’s all in now all connected up and now it’s the painters for the next few days,  then I can put everything back.  So for the next few days it’s back to the dinning room table kitchen that way the painters have a clean sweep.

I had a play with this die,  I have had it a while but just around to using it,  it’s Rose garden from the signatures collection by Crafters companion.

Here are a couple more I made,   I really enjoyed messing around with this die,  the possibilities are endless

Hooe you are enjoying your weekend

CD Sunday Challenge - # 73 Anything goes

Hi,

Her we are in November and it’s nearly the end of this year,  I have no idea where it went,  and I don’t seem to have done a lot this year.  I am in the middle of having a new kitchen,  they started on the 1st November and will finish on the 10th then the following week the painter will be to paint the walls etc., and today I am at a craft fair,  at least I am away from all the building work even if it only for a few hours.

This fortnight I am the host of the challenge,  don’t forget that it is anything goes as usual,  as long as the rules are met,  and it is from a USB,  CD or digital material.

For my card I have used an image and backing paper from House Mouse Project CD from the Project book by Joanna Sheen.   I matted the image on dark blue card,  and decoupaged the image with several layers,  and added a blue bow which I made. I kept the card simple.

CD Sunday Plus challenge has a Facebook page for those who would like to enter the challenge and do not have a blog,   here is a link to the page

The pattern I used was Marianna’s Lazy Daisy Days called Charlie Baby Cardigan Jacket  from her blog

Link to her blog Blog she has a lot of baby patterns,  I really do like her patterns and this is not the first I have knitted.  I know the title has a boys name and this was for a girl,  but I really did like this pattern and looks really beautiful when finished

Host of Angels

Hi,

We are experiencing some very wet weather at the moment,  although we have not had as much as the north of England,  it’s certainly been a wet spell,  and mild unusually mild for us.

I have made a host of Angels,  it’s taken the best part of a week, one a day,  but from tomorrow I have workmen in,  I have taken everything out of the kitchen,  my house feels inside out and upside down, one half of me is looking forward to a new kitchen,  the other half  is dreading workmen with bang and drilling and whatever noise they make.  Of course endless cups of tea?

The pattern is SSSR Angel by Anne Bruvold,  i tatted them in Lizbeth thread no 20

Have a good week, stay safe

70th Birthday

 Hi,

This is a 70th birthday for Terry,  we meet Terry on our Norwegian cruise in 2019 and we have been friends with them ever since.

I used a pattern base card by Hunkydory and matted the image on bushed Miri gold card also by Hunkydory but I found this sheet in my stash of the motor  bike,  which I cut out and decoupaged unfortunately I cannot tell you where the image is from.  It’s a great realistic image is all I can say.  If anyone knows where it came from I would be delighted to know.

Baby knitting No 3

Hi,

Yes my needles have been busy,  this time it’s for my hairdresser who baby’s is due in October.

I made this cardigan and matching hat with stripy wool,  and a white rib around the bottom, neck and cuffs. I have lost the label so I cannot tell you the name of the wool.

I have given it to her and she was delighted as most of the presents so far have been white and she was pleased to get something in colour,  she does not know what the baby will be, and wants a surprise,  I think I would be the same.  She’s now about to stop working for a while but it’s her business so she will be back doing my hair sometime in the future in the meantime one of the other girls will be doing it.

This is a picture of the hat that went with the cardigan

CD Sunday Challenge # 71 Anything goes

 Hi,

Time for another challenge at CD Sunday,  this year is going fast and here we are into October,  The host this fortnight is Pamela

My card this fortnight is from Cottage Garden Moments CD by Debbi Moore,   this is a new CD to me although its not a new one,   I brought this CD recently and I am very pleased with it.  I cut a lace stencil down the side of the card,  and folded the cutting,  I saw this done on a card recently and as I had the stencil so  I copied the idea.  I used an image and then decoupage the chair and  fancy square at the top with the hat.  This card did take a little while but I am happy with the result. I finished it off with gold peel offs and a peach ribbon bow.

Taj Mahal donut ring

Hi
This is my latest ring donut,  it’s a sad one because when I found out about Carollyn, that night I could not sleep and this is the pattern grow in my mind,  The story is the Carollyn was doing a lesson on tatting around keys, she was running out of time designing and I could not tat because I injured my hand,  so I helped her by designing the Taj Mahal key,  she came up with the name, well when my hand was better I then did the Taj Mahal snowflake and ice drop.  This is the Taj Mahal donut ring, I used a small part of the pattern around the ring,  these rings are too small do such a large pattern so I used a bit of it.  It’s a bit rough,   The spouts do bend a bit,  if I do it again (which I will) I will make the middle chains longer.  This is in memory of Carollyn.  I hope you all like it.  I used Lizbeth light peach and light green

Rabbit shuttles and memories

 Hi

In my last post I said how sad I was that Carollyn had died,  I have some very treasured memories from her,  firstly her beautiful writing,  it made my writing look well awful,  and the bunny shuttles she made and sent to me,   I am sure I have other things she sent me in my box of memories that she made and sent but the bunny shuttles will always be my favourite of all.   She was the most inspirational tatter you ever wish to know and her blog was always full of inspiration.  I remember her tatting around leaves she picked out of her garden, who would think of using a leaf in tatting.

My one wish was that I wish I had meet her,   She used to call me her little English tatting friend I hope she is tatting with the angels.

Here is a link to her Blog ,  do have a look at her wonderful work,

Rest in Peace Carollyn

 Hi

Tonight I am feeling very sad as my firend Carollyn has died this week,  we did a lot of tatting over the years,  we used to do the Pinterest challenge together, Mushaan’s and Suzanne.   Together we designed one of her key patterns when I injured my hand and could not tat I sat designing the key pattern that went on to a snowflake, ice drop which we called Taj Mahal.  I have added the three photos of the Taj Mahal patterns.  We shared a lot of ideas on tatting and have been firends for many years.

Rest in peace my dear friend,  I will miss you RIP

Baby knitting

Hi

This is first of three posts of baby knitting I have done recently,  I know that the person it went to does not read and possibly does not know I have a blog,  so I am safe in posting it,  as it has been passed on to her,  she is the partner of Vernon’s nephew and we know that she’s having a girl due anytime now.

Close up of the pattern

The pattern is wonder-soft Stardust no 9522,  and I used James C. Brett baby marble wool  double knitting wool in shades of pink. I also made a hat to match which was not in the pattern but I used the number is stitches from the other pattern

The  back

The hat,  the photo looks a bit dark but it was the same wool and colour as the cardigan

 Hi,

Times for  another challenge at the CD Sunday and again as always it is Anything goes as long as rule 3 is followed.   The host this fortnight is Jocelyn

For my card this fortnight I have used a download from Debbi Moore's web site,  I loved this download with the panda, and it makes a lovely side card.   I did not add anything more to the card than the pieces that came with the download.  It was very straight forward to put together just a little fussy cutting.

I hope you will visit the CD Sunday Plus Challenge site, and remember if you want to enter the challenge you must use something from a CD, USB or digital material no matter how small and let us know where and what you used the material from,   and that it is a card or a project.    Here is a link to CD Sunday Plus Challenge blog  we would be pleased to see you.
