The Thirteenth Day of December

Hi,

I am writing this on the hottest day of the year, and scheduling it for a couple days time.  It is very hot but a beautiful day and I am not complaining.
Above it my 12th day of December tatted in Lizbeth  no 20 white,  did I like the pattern not really but now its pressed it looks better than I thought. I did it in one pass.
To the left is my 13th Day of December, I was fed up with white and I had this on the shuttles,  did I like the pattern, not really too many long chains that got longer as I went around,  I used Green Coral Sea Lizbeth no 20,  I this one in one pass.

Both snowflakes are from the book 24 Snowflakes in tatting by Lene Bjorn

Well thats it for today,  I am actually taking my husband to the hospital today,

Craftree 2016 Year Long Snowflake Challenge

Hi,

This is the snowflake I tatted while on holiday I think we were somewhere in Germany when I did this snowflake,  this is the Eleventh Day of December.  Its not perfect but its me and my eye again or the moment of the coach whatever.    I did this one in pure white, lizbeth thread,  as you know we are doing a challenge over on Craftree using the book 24 snowflakes in tatting and hoping at the end of the challenge in December we will all 24 .

At last a snowflake,  this is The tenth Day of December,   I did this one in pure white, lizbeth thread,  as you know we are doing a challenge over on Craftree using the book 24 snowflakes in tatting and hoping at the end of the challenge in December we will all 24 .

The Sixth day of December

Hi,
Its a bank holiday here in the UK,  but the weather is not what you would call spring,  more like winter.
You know what they say you wait for a bus to come along and then you get two well its a bit like this blog you wait for a week and then you get two posts in two days.
As you know we are doing a challenge over at Craftree from the book 24 Snowflakes in Tatting by Lene Bjorn, and their is a design for each day of December leading up to Christmas and we are doing two snowflakes per month.  well here is day six and seven,  yes its the 1st of May and I am a bit behind but we did not really start the challenge until February.  
Day six is above I did this one in white Lizbeth thread no 20 this is a lovely design to do nothing hard about it.

The Seventh Day of December

Here is Day 7,  this design is a little bit harder with onion rings,  not many tatters like onion rings but I love them,  why are they call onion rings well they are the rings in the design where the rings are tatted together,  in other words you do a ring and then put chains around the ring,  hence onion rings.  I hope that explains it to the non tatters who read my blog.   I used white and Niagara Falls (blue) Lizbeth thread no 20,  for inside the onion rings and the middle of the snowflake
I am pleased with both these snowflakes,   and will do both again,  may not be saying that with the next two which are harder.

Craftree 2016 year long 24 Snowflake Challenge

Hi,

It seems ages since I posted anything,  the flu I got after Easter is still around,  the cough wont go and I have little or no energy.   This snowflake took me a week,  yes a week and to be honest I got fed up with it, anyway here is day 5 of December from the book 24 Snowflakes in tatting by Lene Bjorn,  I tatted it in Ice Blue lizbeth no 20.
So onto the next snowflake and hopefully it wont take me a week.
I am so behind with commenting on the blogs,  if you have not had a comment sorry some days have been a big effort just to get out of bed.
News on the Land of Laces mat I am busy on the heart row and have completed eight hearts so far.

International Tatting Day - 1st April / Craftree 2016 year long 24 Snowflake Challenge

Hi,
Happy International Tatting Day,   the day we try to show the world that tatting is not dead and buried.
I am combining this post with two things firstly the snowflake above is my Craftree 2016 24 Snowflake challenge and is the 4th Day of December,   I used Lizbeth thread no 20 in Ice blue and Niagara Falls which I had left on the shuttles from the 3rd Day of December,  Not sure about this colouring,  I have sewn the snowflake onto a white gift bag,

This is my other part of the post two hearts from the pattern Immortal Heart by Tatmon,   they are small so I made two and joined with a piece of ribbon.  I used Cranberry Bush Lizbeth thread no 20.

So now for a piece of chocolate and start the 5th day snowflake. or my Land of Laces doily whatever takes my fancy

Day Two

 Hi,
This is my two snowflakes for the Craftree tat-along a year long 24 snowflake tat-along,  using the book 24 Snowflakes in tatting by Lene Bjorn.
Above is Day two snowflake using white and Niagara Falls no 20 Lizbeth thread,  I do like the way it turn out and could easily be used as a coaster.

Here is Day three snowflake this is one of my favourites which you have seen on here before,   I used white no 20 Lizbeth thread

Craftree 2016 Year Long 24 Snowflake Tat-Along

Hi,

This year Craftree are doing a challenge,  a year long 24 Snowflake tat-along,  using the book 24 Snowflakes in tatting by Lene Bjorn,    Here is Day one not the easiest pattern with the bare threads,  the last round was tricky even for me, I really had to concentrate on the pattern but here it is in white Lizbeth thread no 20.
