Knitted Slippers

Hi,
Yes I managed to knit a pair of slippers,  my other sister in law from Vernons previous marriage always calls me her sister in law and she has very swollen feet and cant buy a pair of slippers.  These were very hard to knit as I had trouble with a nerve in my shoulder blade at the time,  plus I had a lot of pain in my hands when I knitted it as it is very thick and heavy.
They were knitted with two strands of Big Value chunky wool by King Cole,  colour was called Heather.   Then to add height I added a top piece which I finished off with a picot row, The flower was a water lily pattern from the book 20 to make knitted flowers  I had some left over wool from another project long time ago so I have no idea who made it,  and I added a bead in the middle.
This is a picture of her foot yes it really is a big foot,  I stuffed a sock with small balls of wool to get the shape,  it helped me to knit and get the size right.
I put on the bottom a non slip piece of rubber with a used blanket stitch around.   I just they fit.

Finnish team Knit

Hi,

I thought you might like to see this,  the Finnish team knitting,   this is a photo of the Finnish coach knitting at the top of the slopestyle course.   The team members are knitting a blanket for a new baby of the Finnish presidential family,   just shows you can knit anywhere,   and you don't have to be female to knit.   Well done to the knitters I hope they show us the blanket when its finished,  The picture and information is from In the Loop knitting.

Shape up Birthday

Hi,
I am hoping I am in time for the challenge set by Crafting with Dragonflies,   I made this shape card using the measurements from a beautiful christmas card I was sent.   Having not seen this shape before I thought I would have a go at making one.  This is actually my second card with this shape,  but I don't know what this shape is called,  can anyone help me with its name.
I used a dark blue card and folded the card into a box shape leaving a piece behind,  I then made a second card this time its a white card with pale blue stars on and placed the image from Joanna Sheens CD Enchanted Dreams on the front.  I finished off the card with white die corner die cuts, a white butterfly, and silver peel offs with a silver disc saying happy birthday.
The whole card dos fold flat for posting.

Flower sinks

Hi,
I try to find unusual things for my blog,  I have been trying to get these photos for a while,   they are the sinks in the ladies at Dobbies Garden Center in Shepton Mallet,   I don't go very often and last week there was no one in there so I managed to get these photos.
There are only two flower sinks and I would love one in my bathroom.

Birthday Card

Hi,
This is a birthday card I made for my sister in law Dee,   she likes Art Deco so I made her this card,  I hope it arrives in time for her birthday.
I used Art Deco Timeless Keepsakes CD,  for the image and the backing paper,    I matted the images onto pink miri card and the smaller images I raised up on pads to give the images a little depth.  I added a ribbon down the side.

CD Sunday Challenge - Up up & Away

Hi,
Time for another challenge from the CD Sunday Challenge blog,  this time it was Carol who choose Up Up and Away.
I did like making this card for the background I use the CD Klever Konstruction - on the shelf once in a lifetime volume one,   by the time I put the image on I lost a bit of the clouds but they are there sky with clouds.
The image I stitched in various colours,  I got the image from Pinterest,  which I used a fancy pair of scissors to cut around and matted on a miri card.  I finished off the card with peel offs lines around,  its ages since I did any stitching I really enjoyed it,  I think I must do some more stitching.
A simple CAS card for a change.

Rejected card

Hi,
This is my rejected card, I made it and then rejected it,  it was originally for the CD Sunday challenge Winter in the Mountains,   but I felt it was not good enough so I did another card which you saw a couple of weeks ago.
For this card I used American Frontier CD by Joanna Sheen,   for the background and image I die cut the trees and then layered them on the side.,
We all have cards we make and are not happy with for the purpose but its now going to be a christmas card,   I wont be discarding it perhaps I was being hard on myself with not liking it.
If you have missed any comments on your blog recently I am sorry I have not been too good with the fibromalgia and pain in my shoulder blade,  I hope to catch up soon.
Have a good day,
                                 Hugs

CD Sunday Challenge - Vintage Love

 Hi,
Time for another challenge at the CD Sunday Challenge blog,  this time its Jocelyn's choice and she choose Vintage Love.
For this challenge I used Downton Abby No 1  for the image and backing papers,  I matted the image onto a paper doily which was free with magazine some time ago, added two heart shape pearl gems also free with a magazine no idea which one which, I found them in my stash,
The die at the sides is a fancy edger die called Ornate from Printable Heaven which I brought before christmas,  I cut the sides and them cut the piece of card on the back of the card so it was see though and showing the die more.
I added a small spray of ribbon roses,   I wanted to keep the spray small as its only a small card.
