A Royal Wave. 16/25 Motif challenge

Hi,
These have been made from the Lizbeth thread called Royal Wave no 20.
The top picture shows them as a group,
This pendent is a pattern from Tatting with Rings by Jon Yusoff,  the pattern is called Teratai.
The butterfly is from Mary Konior Tatting Patterns book.
This bracelet is from a new book I brought called Shabby Chic Tatting  by Rozella F Linden,  I do like this book,   the pattern was called Ribbon and Flowers lace,  I was going to make several flowers to go on top of the flowers in the pattern giving it a 3d effect but in the end I just did the middle one.  I used gold seed beads around the last row and  a pearl in the middle on the middle flower.
There are some lovely patterns in this great book,  and there are some beginner patterns  plus a few for the more advanced tatters.

Hugs
Margaret

Earrings, Bracelets and a Cross 3/25

 Hi,
Its a Bank holiday here in the UK,  the sun is now shining after a wet yesterday morning, so hopefully the rest of the weekend will be good.

I start with these earrings, they are the snowflake from the Tat along mat by Renulek,  I used the Atkin Basak Thread No 50 and they make a great earring,   I used light turquoise with gold beads which I am still not sure about and dark turquoise with silver beads.  As I was tatting the snowflake on the mat it said to me earring,   So what do you think, Vernon said they were too big and no one will wear them, but at the moment big jewellery is in.

The bracelets are the Classic Edge pattern by Marilee Rockley I used Lizbeth white and black thread No 20.
The white has dark beads with multi colours and the black has gold beads.

Lastly the cross which I used the light and dark turquoise thread from the earrings,  the pattern is from the Pattern Collection by Mary Konior book.
This is the 3rd of the 25 Motif tatting challenge.

I hope you are having a lovely weekend,   we are off to Oxford later,  so whatever you are doing enjoy your weekend.

Until we meet again Take Care.

I'm going green!!! 12 of 25 motif challenge

Hi,
The sun has finally come out to play,  it was supposed to be a fine day, haha,  we had heavy rain in the night and woke up to a thunder storm,  oh I hate thunder storms.  I thought I would do my washing today,  well I have now put it on to wash,  you never know it might dry today now.  Vernon was going to cut the lawn,  but with the heavy rain its too wet to cut,   it will take a couple of days to dry out,  that is if we can get another couple of days of sunshine,  this year has been two or three days of summer and two weeks of rain.
I have been teaching my Grand daughter Bethany to tat for a year now,  I don't see her very often,  but she could not get a ring,  her hands were a bit small,  she can do a chain and mock ring,  well last Wednesday she finally got it, the flip happen.  Great joy for the both of us,  I knew she would do it one day,  just a question of her hands growing.  I have told her while shes on school holidays to go down to the bottom of my blog and check out some of the tatting blogs,  it would do her good to see other tatters tatting.
When I did the PIF,  one of the winners said her favourite colour was green,  looking at my stock of thread,  very little green this promoted me when I needed some more white thread to buy a few new colours and amongst the new threads I brought Lizbeth No 20 Christmas Green Mix.  All I can say its worked out really pretty,  I may not be a lover of green but this thread is worth a place in my draw.
This is Floral Tatted Bookmark by Kersti.
This cross is from Mary Konior book,  Tatted Patterns,   its an easy cross to make,   I have not blocked it yet so if it looks a bit creased it won't when I bock it.
This is Heart's Desire pattern,   I like this pattern,   its a pretty pattern but can twist when you tatted the right side. Sorry  I cant remember who designed this pattern,  apologies to the designer for not giving her credit.

This is my pattern,   I need a few Dream Catchers for the Demo I am doing next weekend at Shepton Mallet,   There is a link in my sidebar for my pattern blog and you will find the pattern on there.
It will look better when is hangs up.

Tonight is the closing ceremony for the Olympics,   I am not a sporty person but I have enjoyed watching some of it.   There have been sports that I have not seen before and although I may not have know the rules to that sport I have enjoyed watching the horses,   yesterday it was the Modern Pentathlon,  I felt sorry for the horses having strange men riding them around the show jumping,  I had to laugh when the horse either knocked down the polls or in one case walked through the fence instead of jumping it.  One horse throw his rider,   it may not have been fun for the riders but it was a very interesting to watch.
I hope you are having a lovely weekend and the sun is shining on you,   I know the sun will be shining somewhere in the world but not always here this summer.  I am off to finish a wedding anniversary card for Vernon.
Take care

I can't believe my luck

Hi,
What a beautiful day, the sun is shining and its quite hot.
Today I bring you my new books, firstly my Mary Konior book, that I manage to find on Amazon on Friday, I know its secondhand but its a miracle that its even for sale, OK it was expensive compared to what I usually pay for a book, but now I have all four of her books. Mary died last year and these books are out of print so to find one that I could afford was a miracle. There are some lovely patterns I have some tatting on the go at the moment but I know which book I will be using for a while.
Now this book I got the other week, I wanted some inspiration for some flowers and this book has done it. If you have not yet got this book then I suggest you try it, it has some lovely flowers in it.

These are what I did with the book, the cream and gold thread is very old and I have no idea now what is was called as this was made from a bit of a ball left in the draw, I added gold beads to the middle. Then I made the other one with double knitting dark blue wool no label on the ball so I cant remember what that wool is was either, but I added so sparky thread in the middle, must have been good Melissa (DIL) walked off with it, saying she loved it. I have now knitted another one.
I did on Saturday brought the knitted cake book in the series as yet nothing as been knitted from it, will show you some lovely new knitted cakes when I have.
I hope the weather is good with you and until we meet again in blog land take care
Hugs
Margaret
