Renuleks Snow Frywolitkowa Napkin 2012/13

Hi,

This is my UFP  unfinished project,  actually Vernon calls it my work in progress,   well its been a long time in progress,  I finally got it out of the bag about two weeks ago and thought perhaps I should make the effort and finish it,   well after a press and only another row to do here it is,  it was badly creased but with a wash when its finished and a good blocking it will look a lot better.
I started this mat in October 2012,  and last night I started the last round,  its going to take a while its a big round.  At the moment it measures 18 inches across.
Its tatted in Lizbeth thread  Sea Island Citrus no 20.
This is my only unfinished work and before I start my next project I think I better finish this,
I will post a picture when its finished and I can finally say hooray.  I got so bored  and fed up with it,  that I just put it in a bag and left it,   its been nice to come back to it afresh.

Tatting with Wendy plus Renuleks tat along mat.

 Hi,
It seems ages since I posted anything on my blog.   I am recovering well from my op and the infection has gone hooray.  The nurses have stopped coming in and I have the last couple of days been out in the car for a ride.  I am still not allowed to do anything,   at times I forget but I am trying to be a good patient.

Wendy from Uni and Tsuru link to her blog  suggested a tat along,  this is the first round of the pattern we both chose,   the first round is all split rings and a chain from one petal to another link to pattern.    I used Lizbeth no 40 American Apple Pie,   which I think was sent to me a while ago by Wanda. if I am wrong,  its been a while ago.  I have enjoyed this pattern something different,  I will post the next round when done.

                                                       --oo0oo--

Now while I am posting do you remember this.   This is the tat along by Renulek (intatters)  its  been ages since I posted this mat but finally I have finished the snowflake round and the little bits beside the snowflakes.  I stopped doing this mat after Vernons Dad died in January and then I did a bit and put it down and lost interest in it.   Well while I can't do anything but sit I picked it up again and here is the finished snowflake round,  now I am on the next round with three more to do.   I can't see this being finished any time soon but at least its back on track.   I am using Lizbeth No 20 Sea Island Citrus thread.

Thank you for all your kind wishes and messages they are really appreciated.
I hope you are keeping well, until we meet again take care.

Earrings, Bracelets and a Cross 3/25

 Hi,
Its a Bank holiday here in the UK,  the sun is now shining after a wet yesterday morning, so hopefully the rest of the weekend will be good.

I start with these earrings, they are the snowflake from the Tat along mat by Renulek,  I used the Atkin Basak Thread No 50 and they make a great earring,   I used light turquoise with gold beads which I am still not sure about and dark turquoise with silver beads.  As I was tatting the snowflake on the mat it said to me earring,   So what do you think, Vernon said they were too big and no one will wear them, but at the moment big jewellery is in.

The bracelets are the Classic Edge pattern by Marilee Rockley I used Lizbeth white and black thread No 20.
The white has dark beads with multi colours and the black has gold beads.

Lastly the cross which I used the light and dark turquoise thread from the earrings,  the pattern is from the Pattern Collection by Mary Konior book.
This is the 3rd of the 25 Motif tatting challenge.

I hope you are having a lovely weekend,   we are off to Oxford later,  so whatever you are doing enjoy your weekend.

Until we meet again Take Care.

International Tatting Day - 1.4.2013

 Hi

It might be April Fools Day (and the weather still feels like winter) but its International Tatting Day.  I am often asked it is just in this country to which I reply NO,    I can simply say tatting is world wide,   on all five continents, from Europe to South America  Africa, North America, Asia and Australasia    Whatever language is spoken tatting is universal,  all that is needed is a drawing of a pattern,  is enough to tat.
I found this little mat the other day,  I have no idea when I made it,   its from the book Tatting with visual Patterns by Mary Konior and its called flower piece,   there is another round,  for this one I know I used dark blue no 60 as I still have some left,   and  I think it was by Coats  I am afraid these days no 60 would be a little too small for my eyes,  my eyes must be needing stronger glasses must be my age!

As promised her is the tat along mat by Renulek (Intatters) in Sea Island Citrus Lizbeth no 20,  by the time you see this I should have finished this round and might have started the next.   Its taken a couple of months to get back to normal and start it again after my cock up and having to cut out a bit,  but its now my mojo seems to be back and its firmly on the way to being finished,   hopefully..

For more information on tatting click on the intatters badge in my sidebar or on the link for leaning tatting by Marilee  (Craftsy)

I hope you are having a lovely Easter,  keeping warm,  they say we have this cold weather possibly until the end of April,   With the clocks going forward yesterday into British Summertime, all I can say is its going to be a long time before we see summer.
                                Take care
                                    Hugs

1st Card of the year and update on the Tat along Mat

Hi,
Today was foggy so these pictures ended up with the flash working,  I have done a cock up I did Art Deco for the Sunday CD Challenge its not its Art Nouveau,  so one card that's not correct.  Oh well should have used the brain cell I blame the tablets.
Well this is the first card of the year.

The card was made from the Art Deco Timeless Keepsake CD, using an image and matching backing paper,  which I did an easel card.
The spray of flowers are some rose buds I brought on wires which I curled and let them spring from the spray,  die cut roses which I brought in the Garden Centre Millets near Abingdon which we visit when we go up and see Vernon's family.  small gold bead sprays and two coloured ribbon.
An Ivory ribbon and gold bead on the other side of the wonderful die embossed sheet and flourish which my friend Suzanne did for me.   thank you Suzanne yours pieces are wonderful
I finished the card off with gold peel off's and on the base another Ivory ribbon with a cream rose matching those on the spray,  with Happy Birthday in white lettering.
The ribbon is from Joanna Sheens on line shop

This is the tat along mat by Renulek you saw the first three rounds on the last post,   I said round four was big,  well this is as far as I have got half way,    I have worked out the colours for the Mayan tatting challenge,  and worked the pattern out yeah just got to tat it.   The TIAS starts tomorrow not sure what its going to be but that's half the fun.
Sorry Blogger is playing up so I hope you can read the first part of this post.
Until we meet again take care, keep warm.

Tat along by Renulek (intatters) and snowflake for Sandy Hook School

 Hi,
As our weather slightly improved,  we now having many days of dark and drizzly, I suppose its an improvement from rain.  Floods are going down in some places but the boreholes are so full that they are now overflowing,  with underground water sources being so full that they now making new floods,  so all of sudden many houses are being flooded by water coming back up to the surface.  Its official 2012 was not the wettest year it came second,   2000 was the wettest by 3 mm   In Frome we had 1257 mm of rain,   1000 = 39 inches I will leave to work it out,  I can tell you I am sick of rain, please please could the person who did the rain dance for rain, change it to a sun dance.

This is the tat along mat which Renulek designed from Intatters,  link to her blog do you remember I had started it and posted it on the 28th October,  no I had look it up too.  Well now with Christmas is over I picked it up again but I was  not happy with the second row,  so look what I did with it.........

Its not often I do that,   so here it is with round two re-tatted and with round three done,   its not been blocked and I still have to sew the end in but the days are so dark I have want some better light to sew them in,  its no good trying to do it in night light.  I am using Lizbeth no 20 in Sea Island Citrus thread,   I rather like this thread, its pale and the colours bend in nicely.
The next round is very large and long so its going to take a few days to do,   and I am in the middle of the Mayan Intatters challenge,  more of that to come when my exchange partner receives it.

This is the snowflake I sent to the Snowflake appeal for the Sandy Hook  Elementary School,  they want to do a snowflake scene for when the children go back to their new school on the 12th.   I sent it off on Wednesday and then on Thursday there was a piece to say they have enough snowflakes.  Mine is winging its way over the pond by air mail.  I hope they except it for their display.
This snowflake was one I used on the daily snowflake challenge for christmas its from the book Christmas Angels and other tatting Patterns by Monica Hahn.
I hope the New Year has been kind to you,  until we meet again take care
                     Hugs

Tat along by Renulek (Intatters) Challenge and Orchids

 Hi,
Yesterday was lovely day cold, blue sky, and sunshine,  I went out for the first time for some time   ok it was only to the wool shop but it was out, I got the buttons for the babies cardigan I showed you a week ago now I can finish it off and put it in my esty store, (there is a link to the esty in my sidebar I was asked last time) Then in the evening we went to friends for a couple of hours,  I know I was in pain by the time I got home but it was lovely just to get out of the four walls. Today its cold and rainy, dark and overcast totally different to yesterday.  My scan is on Thursday,  crossing fingers they find what it is.
I have started doing the tat along Challenge from "Intatters" this is another doily pattern,  and I have no doubt I will keep this one too.   This time it was set by Renulek link to her blog  she is Polish oh and shes called the doily a napkin.   The blog is in Polish but blogger will translate the blog.    This is round one and two,  I am using Lizbeth No 20 Sea Island Citrus,  which is a new thread and I have not used before, I treated myself to this one when I brought some thread a couple of months ago.   Its working up very pretty,  I hope I will feel the same when I have done round four it looks a bit of a nightmare.

My orchid is flowering again,  I took this picture on friday,  well you know I love orchids,  they are my favorite flower.  If you have not seen Wendy's blog over the last couple of days, please pay her a visit link to her blog   she has put some gorgeous pictures of Orchids on her blog,  one is marked especially for me.  Thank you Wendy for finding the photograph and thank you for sharing those wonderful pictures.
Thats it today I hope you have a lovely weekend,
Until we meet again take care
